I flashed it with the Finless 1.5a rom. Video playback is absolutely smooth now!!!!

But, bluetooth stopped working now (T428) Is anyone else able to use BT with this kernel?

Would be great if you could also get Logitech C310/C510 camera support added

Flashed it with the nexus rom now, same problem: no BT

Still great work though, you solved a problem all 3188 sticks were suffering from. Soon we'll have loads of new roms & kernels with working video!

the video playing is smooth and the nexus rom is really good

If you are working on sdk 2.0...

ps I think at this point who had voiced doubts about your work should apologize and take a bath of humility...

Thanks Strauzo, your work is really appreciated! Also thanks to everyone else who has been working on this issue.

BT problem here too though, it just won't switch on in settings.

I'm also unable to sign in to netflix now getting a 13007 error - maybe this isn't related to the new kernel but has anyone else tried it yet?

I also tested the nexus ROM with this kernel. It appears to be slightly faster than Bob's 1.5A but the following things make it unsuitable for me for daily usage:
                • Resolution fixed to 1280x720. HDMI resolution and scaling settings don't work. I can set the resolution to 1920x1080 by manually editing the 'mode' file.
                • Only one mount point available for USB storages
                • No external sound support
                • The second mouse button on my Logitech K400 doesn't work as 'back' (probably adjustable with some app, though)

For now I'm happy with the combination of this kernel + Bob's 1.5A ROM.

this kernel is for t428 and i tested it with the Nexus rom in the first post.

but the solution is for all rk3188 devices. and it is very very simple.
Your tireless work is much appreciated. Even though this kernel doesn't work on the MK908, it's a landmark. Let those who decried your experiments eat humble pie..experimentation is the soul of science; I hope we can share in your secret so that we can get a fix for the 908, 919 etc.

Good job! Seems to be working fine. My usb ethernet seems to be more stable also. Looking forward to next nexus rom. One request, could you fix screenscaling in the nexus rom?

                    Cheers!

                      WOOT WOOT!

These forums have been lagging lately wtf! Nice work strauzo! Def. give props when props is due and this is kernel has the best playback of all so far. Im glad we finally got away from the glitchy tablet kernels too those things were ehhh and def. not the answer With this kernel I wouldnt say video playback is 100% micro jitter free during panning scenes but its at least a 95%, so damn close, and good enough until official rom! USB debugging isnt working for me though, nor bluetooth like others have mentioned. Will test more and see if there is anything else.

you have to call your next rom like..."vsrockchip" rom or something like that

I hope I can offer you a beer in the future

I should follow the same instructions that came with Finless firmwares to try yours??

that link is just the kernel file, you should also download <DELETED> from first page of this thread, unpack rom .zip, unpack kernel .zip, launch RKAndroidTool, manually select all rom files from rockdev and rockdev/image directory but substitute the modified kernel.img from where you unpacked it, connect your t428 while pushing its button to your pc usb, wait for driver to be loaded and rkandroidtool to identify it and burn the rom.
then wait for your t428 to initialize all filesystems and start up and you can configure it as you wish.
kernel file could work also with bob finless's roms but its not been tested
