    overclocked kernel is here

before I start just let me tell you that you are doing this at your own risk and you need a heatsink or extra cooling

here is my overclocked kernels for the MK802-IV or UG007B or QC802 or cozyswan s400 as I believe the are all the same internally

For this kernel to work you must have a rom that does not have the kernel in the boot partition I recommend this one as it works perfectly http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...stom-Rom-4-2-2 or this one http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...loudnet-Go-CR9 just replace the kernel with mine

I have up dated this post to add extra kernel options for people. The 1080p kernels that do not have the cpu overclock and just the ram should not need extra cooling but you should make sure that your stick still does not get too hot but all of the other kernels especially the extreme does. I cannot be held responsible for you overclocking your device and damaging it, remember keep your device cool

thanks go to Andy from rikomagic for the source

Hey Sam, sorry noob here. How do I install the kernel without cwm? I can't manage to install cwm successfully on rk3188. Appreciate your response. Thanks.

Duh ignore above. I'm really a noob. Didn't realized that rkbatchtool 1.7 can do that. Anyway, the major problem is I can't download from that site youve provided. Do you have alternate?

What size should a copper heatsink for the CPU be?

1080p installed without a problem and works great so far! Thanks for sharing this.

the heat sync does not particularly need to be that big, of course the bigger the heat sync the cooler the device will run. I will show you a picture of mine and it only gets warm,

                this stick is running at
                cpu 1.9ghz
                ram at 1400
                graphics 600mhz

I have been working on improving the performance of 1080p kernels overclocking the cpu does not really help, the only way I have found to improve speed is to overclock the ram. So I have got some experimental kernels for you to try as always you use these at your own risk. The cpu in these kernels have not been overclocked so you should not need a heat sync, however the android sticks run hotter at 1080p anyway

that heatsink is huge lol. how did you install such a large heatsink? i was only planning on placing a self adhesive heatsink to the cpu but it looks like u've covered the entire board. thanks mike.

the heat sink does not have to be that big, the heat sink is off a ps2 and is shaped like this.

                      | | | | | | | | |
                      ____-----_____
                      ......|___|

I cut a square hole in the top of the case and then use thermal glue to stick it on the cpu and ram and I use hot glue to stick it to the case so that it takes the pressure off the board/PCB

RAM overclock seems to be very interesting. I've read that RAM does not really need a heatsink and is just a marketing propaganda. Anyone can confirm this? Can't wait to try this one. Keep it coming!

Just wondering why the video playback of my 1080p kernel minix g4 is way smoother than my rk3188. I occasionally getting a 1 sec blank screen when using 1080p hdmi output but not on 720p regardless of kernels and roms I used. Anyone have that experience?

would it be possible to create kernel with the ability to underclock/overclock the gpu?

Underclocking the gpu is 100% possible, I have done it to one of my sticks so it would run using the usb socket on my tv with a small underclocking/undervolting to the gpu and cpu to save power. However as for overclocking the gpu it would not be advisable as it is already running at 600mhz. Underclocking/undervolting the gpu and the cpu makes for a very energy efficient android stick
