    Bad GPU performance

    Hi freaks !

this is my first post and I have a problem with my rico802IV with MK802 IV NEOTV CR 1.0 Neomode Custom Rom 4.2.2 and kernel 1.9GHz 1500MHz ram and my antutu result is:

    Overall: 17109
    CPU: 9171
    GPU: 3949 (should be 5400)
    RAM: 3098 (should be 3400)
    IO: 891
    Resolution: 1280x672

how You can see my GPU and RAM results ar not quite enough for this rom and kernel, testet with min 1800 and max 1920MHz and performance governer! Maybe power supply is bad? I'm using stock power supply HP-5V 2A. On my rockchip and two of four mem I have copper plate with heatpipe that ends with small heatsink without fan and without case (temporairly) but after tests all isn't too hot! Please help with that!

P.S. My wifi is great over 5,4MBps!!! via samba copy from Zyxel NSA310, my router is TP-LINK WDR3600, 802IV is only 30cm from router signal -45dBm. And speedtest 45Mbps/10Mbps because is limited by WAN sorry for my bad english, regards!

Hi yerzu. You said on the other threadthat all roms are unstable for you in respect to video playback, which leads me to believe it could be an app or a problem with your android stick. Here are some things to try to solve your problem

1: uninstall any overclocking app, the governer is set to scale up to the maximum frequency anyway

2: try using a kernel that does not overclock the ram as much, such as 1.9ghz ram 1400mhz or 1.8ghz ram 1400mhz not all sticks are created equal,it depends on the quality of your ram and the cpu in your stick

3: while running the antutu test put a fan over the CPU and see if you get a higher score then

Sam, first thanks a lot for share your modifications for overclock, I tested them in the imito qx1 and works very well on it. Great work.

Thanks for reply! Sorry maybe I was too rude in other thread but I think You understand my thinking. Yours kernels are good but I have a question: what is GPU clock on it? I tried anything - any combination rom kernel and mxplayer with and without neon codec - when I play 720p or 1080p (quicker) mx ends work immediately! Maybe You or other freakuser knows other and quite well app to playback videos with support smb and srt(txt)?

In antutu I always reach 17k points and only GPU and RAM is poor I think my AC-DC adapter is too weak (2A) for that OC (linepack max 172). Can You confirm that You and other overclockers use other (stronger e.g. 3A) than stock AC-DC adapter? My cooling system is coppersink with one large heatpipe and one fan.

Not only Amperage usually is the problem, stability and electric noise are problems too. In fact I am using a 1,5A psvita charger without any problems with my Qx1 stick

Yea I know that the quality of adapter parts are very important but I can't determine this looking on the backplate and so I sad that about 3A adapter. I will check on my nexus7 2A adapter maybe it is more stable but on this I also has 17k in antutu and I suppose that will be the same. I ordered big 4A PS maybe this solve my problems with performance and stability. Regards!

the GPU clock is set to 600mhz, I use a power supply i bought seperatly it is 3A I have tested the power supply and it really does supply 3A unlike the cheaper ones, you really should be getting a higher score than that unless you have got a lot of APPS installed. It works for me and many others

ok thanks, I always test system after rom flashing only with antutu and anutu cpu master installed. Probably tomorrow I will test my mk802iv with 4A adapter and I will write my antutu and linepack score, regards and have a nice day!

Confirmed, all working fine with scores etc., and I have got a 30mm 5v fan attached to the top, with the case opened for better circulation.

                                nothing changed

                                Hi!

Unfortunately problem still exist. I bought 5V 4A adapter with stabilisation (like a laptop PA): antutu 17k GPU & RAM suck! Now I'm testing stability (mx player neon with 1080p movie started) and I will write later.

Still unstable mx player quit on 30/130min movie HW and video hangs after 10min HW+, which player You use? maybe mx is crap?
