Thank you
Pleased to hear that your X92 is up and running again.
I have also just got mine (3/16GB) working gain using the IMG file that karaganda72 put a link to in post 54. Thank you karaganda72.
Thank you also edwardsfrequent for your additional information which helped. Just a bit more info I can add.
The recovery button through the AV port on the back does NOT need to be held in to complete this procedure.
The USB cable and X92 power can be plugged in before shorting the pins on the Samsung IC. I'll attach a photo to confirm the pins to be shorted.
The Amlogic software I used to flash the firmware was v2.0.7.2 from here:
I just ran the Amlogic software on my PC, then connected the USB/USB cable between PC and X92 (top right USB) and connected the X92 power supply.
Next I just shorted the pins and the PC then requested to load firmware for the X92 USB device. The PC then searched and loaded the USB firmware.
Once the PC is connected the short does not need to be left on once the PC has connected.
The first two attempts at loading the firmware it failed at 4%. It worked correctly on the third attempt.
The firmware that karaganda72 provided is actually earlier than what was on the box before it was bricked.
Before it was bricked: 20161008.17:46
After karaganda72 firmware: 20160924.11:51
Also, before it was bricked I did not have the OTA update app. I do now.
Is there any later good firmware for the 3/16GB X92?
Is the firmware definitely different for the 2GB and 3GB models? You may only view thumbnails in this gallery. This gallery has 3 photos.3 Photos
