    Pipo M6 4.2.2 RileyROM 1.4 [SDK 2.0] - feedback thread

This ROM is based on an unofficial firmware dated 7/12/13. The build.prop indicates that it is an SDK 2.0 build.

    This ROM is:

    Rooted
    Debloated
2, 4, 6 or 8gb user app space (just change to the desired parameter file)
    Busybox commands added
    init.d support added

There is only one version for this ROM. It works for both 3G and wifi models.

    Download

If you are curious about what bloatware Pipo includes in their ROM's, you are welcome to download the pre debloated version. I called it 1.3a during the testing process. In order to unlock some of the features, you may have to email Pipo support to request the unlock key.

    Download

If this ROM makes a difference for you, please consider a donation to support future RileyROM's here at Freaktab.com Donate!!! I'm really in need of a new laptop to cook my ROM's because my old system is wearing out quick.

So I flashed 1.4 and everything is working great! I'm liking the new look (not sure about the communist crest in the quick settings bar though :P). Btw Randy, here's the picture of that pop up after the first boot requesting an internet connection for certification. Hope you know what it's for!

          Pipo M6 4.2.2 RileyROM 1.4 [SDK 2.0] - feedback thread

That's part of the license key process for the added features I left out. All that stuff is included in v1.3a.

How often does it pop up?

I tried removing the app that makes that happen on another rom and it broke other things.

this keeps popping up every time after booting the tablet until it is started with a WLAN/3G connection open or until you click on "Settings" and enable WLAN/3G.

Yeah I think it's not a big deal as long as it's not some kind of tracking system or surveillance (I'm not usually a paranoid kind of person but I have bought a laptop from China that was loaded full of spyware and trojans). I doubt it's anything to be worried about though so I'd probably just leave it alone.

On another note, I broke the mini USB cable today which came with my M6. Basically I had it plugged in to my computer but forgot about it so when I picked up the tablet, the metal tip on the mini USB end got yanked off even though I didn't really pull so hard. I tried another mini USB cable which came with my bluetooth keyboard but it didn't work. Luckily, the mini USB cable for my One X worked fine with the M6 so I won't need to hunt for a replacement. Just thought I'd warn people out there that the cable from Pipo can break quite easily so be careful!

Here I am after a day of use with the 1.4 rom. I have one annoying problem which is that it seems my touch screen is too sensitive. When typing almost every other character I type creates extra characters, and when touching the screen it seems to respond on several places at more or less the same time. Is this just happening to me? And is there a way to get sensitivity lower? Oh yes, something completely different, how can i create line-breaks in this forum? Pressing the enter key doesnt produce that result....

                  Pipo M6 4.2.2 RileyROM 1.4 [SDK 2.0] - feedback thread

On my M8 Pro and U30GT2 this only happens when the charger is plugged in. That is a common problem only while charging, though.

Keep in mind, this is a test firmware, so expect a few glitches here and there. It seems like Pipo is trying to perfect SDK 2.0 still.

Hmm i haven't done much typing so far but I don't think I've noticed anything out of the ordinary. I will say that in the past, it did seem over sensitive whilst scrolling pages on a website where instead of scrolling, it would click a link on the page. It was quite annoying but I've learnt to deal with it by pressing a bit harder whilst scrolling.

                      Typing....?

I just have to tell you about my newest gadget. A relly nice, full size bluetooth keyboard. What a difference to use this instead of a onscreen keyboard. Paired it with my phone as soon as I got it and now trying it out. Next I will pair it with my M6, but certainly this will also work.

                        Hotspot

                        Hi to everybody!

I'm new on this thread, I got an M6 wifi tablet some weeks ago and I'm quite ok with it, I also upgraded to the last PiPO official ROM of 22/7 it's ok. I'm following you from your last 1.2 ROM.

Now I'm going to download and try this 1.4 ..... Thank You Riley!

I've only one concerne about this tablet: I cannot success to access the internet using hotspot connection by my smartphone. The phone is ok since hotspot works using the laptop, the tablet can connect to the wifi hotspot but cannot navigate the web. The wifi icon remains grey and doesn't become blue!

Anybody else has experienced this issue?

                        Thanks

Although I have the 3g version of the M6, I have once tried to connect it using the WiFi hotspot of my HTC Desire with a custom Jelly Bean ROM. It works as expected.I suspect, there is something wrong with your settings.
Have you tried to connect another device to your phone?

                          Regards
                          Andreas

You want to check your Access Control Settings (the phone which you are using as an access point needs to be able to recognize the MAC Address of the wireless card in the device that you want to connect).
