Sorry to say but I think it's either a problem with your microSD card or your machine. I also have a Sandisk 32GB Class 10 microSD formatted to FAT32 and so far I haven't experienced any problems. I've copied pictures and movies to and from the M6 with the cable as well as in a SD card adapter and didn't have any problems. I'd recommend getting your hands on another Sandisk card with the same specs to make sure it's not the card's fault before calling up Pipo. But it does kinda sound like it's your tablet that's the problem since it's causing a restart when you're taking the card out. It seems like some kind of short circuit inside the port although I'm no expert in this area.

I believe that icon is the Users icon which was a functionality that was introduced in Android 4.2 (I think). I haven't used that function either on the M6 or on my One X (with CM10.1) so I'm not sure what's it's supposed to do. When you click it though, it does say "The contact doesn't exist" so I'm guessing I need to link it to my account or something.

    @Randy

There is one small "problem" which has been bugging me a little. It's not a problem with your ROM and I don't know how much can be done about this but I think the tablet's default vertical orientation is wrong. Most apps allow you to view it however you like (such as the Browser which rotates any which way) but there are some apps (like Cut the Rope, Android System Info, Lookout System Security etc.) which has a fixed vertical orientation. On the M6, that orientation is always with the ports facing down and the front camera on the bottom right. It can be quite annoying when I have the power, earphones and/or other cables plugged in and can't set the tablet down properly. Do you think this can be fixed on the software side? Or anyone we can contact on Pipo's software team to make a suggestion?

Since you are rooted, you can play with the screen orientation settings in build.prop if you like.

I have some experience messing with these, and I feel it's better to leave as default. There are some apps that can toggle screen orientation for you, also.

I should have clarified that bit.

When I try to shutdown my M6 or Restart it, it will just stay on the "device is shutting down" dialogue box but not perform the shutdown or reboot. Once I remove the card, the unit performs the shutdown or reboot as per normal.

Thanks for the info! Was there any reason why you prefer to leave it as default? Did you have any problems? Btw, which settings should I change? I can only find there two entries which may apply: ro.sf.fakerotation=true and ro.sf.hwrotation=270. If they are the correct entries, what should I change the values to? Thanks Randy!

Ahhh right, my bad! Then hopefully it's just a problem with the card. Good luck!

You can do these one at a time.

Change fake rotation to false and reboot. See what that does. Usually, it makes the screen go opposite of the way you want it, though.

Then the ro.sf.hwrotation=270 setting you change the number. It is in degrees, so change in 90 degree increments. Different tablets act differently to these changes, depending on how the kernel is set to address these settings.

Most people prefer the default settings on screen orientation, unless we are trying to fix a major problem. Those settings do come in handy to adjust custom kernels...but there are no custom kernels for Pipo products at the moment.

Just waiting in my Pipo M6 arriving, can't wait! One of the reasons I bought a RK tablet was the multi windows support. Will we be seeing this on the M6?

                Pipo M6 4.2.2 RileyROM 1.4 [SDK 2.0] - feedback thread

I have seen it on the M7, and someone has ported it to the M8 Pro...still waiting for the other tablets.

All of these later releases have been copies of test versions leaked from the factory, though. No official releases yet.

I would just like to have a perfected 4.2.2 implementation to go with, much less multi-window.

                I keep patiently looking...every day...hahaha!!!!!

Thank you for creating a ROM for my Pipo M6 tablet.
                  I'am very happy with it.

I have noticed two small "problems".

The first one is in the setting panel. There is a Chinese icon which does nothing when you press it.

The second one is when you press the "Rockchip System Update" I get the message that it stopped.

Running the 1.4 rileyrom here.. and not getting the first issue.. just my ugly mug from my google account. Have you got a profile pic?

Impressions of the rom so far? Great! tablet seems to slow down over a period of a few days.. but I guess thats a rockchip issue.. everything else seems to be getting better and better with each rom, whether official or 'other'

looking forward to the roms being completely optimised...

The Star with Sickle and Hammer resembles the images from the very first version of the Chinese Flag.
Has anyone tried to remove that?

Thank you. After setting a profile picture in Google+ the Chinese icon was replaced with this picture.

Randy, cant you use the CWM recovery.img (generic ramdisk only version) from here?

I am using your 1.4 ROM for M6 and have replaced your recovery.img with the recovery.img from the above link. Works great!

Or else you can copy flash_image and recovery.img to /dev and then do a chmod 755 for the flash_image and then do a /dev/flash_image recovery /dev/recovery.img to flash the CWM recovery on to the ROM after flashing the ROM I do it every time I flash a new factory/custom ROM....

Apart from the chines pic, there is one more issue. When you go to the Apps-running..it exits and does not show the running apps...This happens with all the custom ROMS from the baidu site. It does not happen to the factory ROMS from PIPO site ....

                            Pipo M6 4.2.2 RileyROM 1.4 [SDK 2.0] - feedback thread

When I started making ROMs, I tried to put the generic CWM in the place of stock recovery for a while. I never could work out the whole getting the internal sd to mount/format problem. That is a step that is hard to explain...and some folks saw it as a bug in my ROM.

So, I just stopped the practice of including it, although...if you set it up correctly, it works in most ROMs. But on some...it simply won't work.

Since I'm one of the few developers who still actually does ROMs for tablets I don't have to personally test with...I try to keep them simple.

I'm glad to hear that CWM works for you, and if I remember...I will try to start including it as an option, again for this tablet.

I don't think so, but I have several tablets without screen protectors and I haven't noticed any scratches. I'm very careful, though.
