I will keep trying around. If someone else comes across this and know the component name I would appreciate it.

yep those look like the ones on the board - M05, I thought it may of been after my squinting and eye pulling.

hopefully this is the part you will need to get the box back up and running providing no other hidden damages have been sustained

      good luck

Details of Mods to AML8726-MX Dual Core TV Box Android 4.2.2

            Hello from sunny Madagascar,

I am most impressed by the hard work and determination of the authors of this thread. You guys don't quit!

I just bought a AML8726-MX Dual Core TV Box Android 4.2.2 DVB-S2 (HD18 S2) so would like to ask a few questions. I have not received it yet because my friend (electrical engineer) will be bringing it out with him in two weeks but want to get my expectations realistic beforehand.

Primarily, I was attracted to this box because of the possibility of having satellite reception and a media center all in one box so would be keen to install OpenELEC.

I would be really grateful to hear from anyone who has undertaken the installation of OpenELEC on the same box:
Is anyone using the OpenELEC successfully as a satellite receiver and, if so, have they managed to use cccam/oscam?
Is the machine stable running Openelec or does it crash a lot?
Is anyone streaming media from a NAS over cabled ethernet and how does it perform 720p 1080p, etc?
What difficulties did you encounter during the installation?

            Some more information:
            Model: HD18S2
Manufacturer MAC Look up: Shenzhen Shiningworth Technology Co., Ltd - Hong Kong.

I have been rereading the thread and have realised that I probably have the v1.1 which is not supported. A shame. I would still like to hear from people that have modded the supported version of the card about reliability because I would like 11 media center / satellite receivers for my hotel.

              mx box problem

              Hi

I have a MX box. My device has the g18ref board. however the reset button is in the Audio SPDIF hole.

Does anyone have any experience with this issue, where the box is rebooting in a loop after trying the procedure explained by Beni and on XDA developers. I used the 4GB card and used the program mentioned to write the image on the sd card.

After the two errors (which are common) I rebooted the system.
AFTER THE REBOOT IT GETS REALLY WEIRD.

              (This is the main issue)
              - I am no longer getting the MATRICOM or A9 Screen and instead i get a White screen and sometimes a lime Green Screen.
              - The box automatically starts to install the firmware again (i guess its automatically booting from the SD card without pressing the reset button).
              - if i take the SD card out after the reboot i have a Blank Screen saying no signal on my TV. which means the box has power but it does not start and boot in to the android system.
              - if i put the sd card back in, it boots automatically in to the installation again without me holding the reset button.

I have tried everything but i cant get the Matricom image back which is now replaced with a Pure Lime Green Screen.

In order to change the screen from GREEN to MATRICOM i tried the two files for recovery also provided by the DroidTV (Mx2 recovery zip in the SD card which has the uboot file) MY BOX Boots but it is stuck on the Green color screen and does not move and take me to the recovery and i have to take the plug out and restart the unit.

                Hi,
i have to be honest and say i dont have experience with this exact board but if you have managed to confirm that openelec does go on then you wont have any problems with stability. I know for sure openelec is the preferred operating system for most people as xbmc /kodi runs like liquid gold. Streaming is not an issue either - most people are running media through NAS systems or through other machines the question is how fast is your network backbone to transmit the HD media across.

Since this version has a built in PVR receiver the only thing you need to hook up is the antenna and your away. You need one of the PVR clients to tune your channels but other than that the box should.

Again i would advise someone from another forum thread who specializes in your specific board to give you more info on what firmware you can install on it so you dont accidently brick the box

                  Hi,

as advised to many other who have the same problem as you - please use a bigger SD card which is classed with a 10 rating. This is to be 100% the files all fit. 2nd make sure the hdd image you prepare before the flash is the RAW hdd image file and not the zip file. It should be one huge file not many extracted in folders etc and not in zip format either. The you begin the sd magic card prep.

Next if your getting flashing colours come up on screen thats a good sign. You will most likely need to use dexstars nand scrubber files first on a sd card. This will completely zero the nand rom ready for a force flash with the magic sd. (This is if the correct formatted magic sd card does not work from first few attempts).

Use dexstars files first then try again to flash through toothpic recovery method.

The other problem you may have is you have a bad card reader and its not formatting or sending the files correctly over to the sd card. Confirm all files on your sd before you attempt the flash to be sure all correct files are present on the card. Then begin your flashing

good luck and post your results when you're done

The steps are printed at least 10 times from what i alone have typed into this thread - please start reading all posts from page 20 and you will see the instructions posted in super great detail. You must do the reading so you can understand the principles of the recovery you are performing - this is to ensure 2 things. Prevent you from making a critical error and causing serious damages to your box and to also make sure that when you carry out the instructions you understand what you are doing and why you are doing it.

I could keep posting the same thing over and over but you need to be familiar with the hardware / software before you carry out the recovery operations

if it still doesnt make sense please post back what is not making sense to you and i will gladly help.

Sorry if im sounding stuck up but its the mere fact i dont want to keep repeating the same things over and over again flooding the thread with exactly the same thing

But on the last 10 boxes I ordered, no matter what i do install starts and verifies installation check and then just says installation aborted, I tried in almost all of them and did nothing.
Im having the same problem , impossible to install xbmc linux , always says installation aborted.
