update....
im suspicious of this firmware as it doesnt begin to auto install on its own - even with manually selecting this file it aborts very quickly.....
its a risky zip file from a not so well known source and im not even sure this is designed for the matricom boards g18ref etc....
use this at your own riskLast edited by kerikhaos; 24 December 2014, 08:16.

Have you got a link to the mag250 emulator. Also is there a thread or site thats actively testing this out ?
PS great work on the fw brick fix with dexter.

as for testing thread I don't think so but I've had a few hours play on this thing and it has loaded some free listings I found online so I think a subscription is needed to be 100% tested successfully
thanks for positive feedback with the android steps and hope it has helped you with yours

Thanks for the info.
During my tests with faulty MX2 boxes, and it's nothing I've seen mentioned in threads before, is that if you plug an ethernet cable into the back of a faulty box is that the green and yellow lights flash in sequence of 5 flashes. I have a few of these boxes that don't seem to come back to life no matter what, and I am guessing it is a service code. It would be interesting to see if this was the case and help people in knowing wether the box is possible to bring back to life.

My China seller send me instructions:

2please compare a 4GB TF card and use computer to format TF card, and then copy the file into the TF card .
3Disconnect the power of the MX2, and then connect the power of MX2 TV BOX with the TF card which has File I sent to you, after there is a screen which has file I sent to you .

Ok
Thanks a lot!
4Gb - this is the main thing I think.
Becouse of my device has only microSD and normal USB socket I will use microSD and Adapter card.
I already tryed with 2Gb and even prepared it witn SDcardMaker and my u-boot.bit but seems like my tv-box can not see card during booting and still has a loop boot
So going to find 4Gb

plz i have a problem
hii everyone.. I have a problem, please if anyone know about these issue help me
I have a receiver based android dvb-s2, called prima 6001
after trying upgrading to a new firmware it stuck
no screen at all , tried both with hdmi cable and av cable same result
tried to replce cable and tried on different tv, same result
the device seem turned on, but nothing on the screen.
the new firmware provider adviced me to do what is called hard brick repair by connecting 2 pins from the board so the device boot from the sd card which contain certain files to go to the recovery.
I tried to do that, but unsuccessfully !!
I didn't know which pins to connect ..
any help ??
