seems dexstar has found us a UART shortcut without the UART hardware and allows us to bounce the boxes back to life without the hassle and technical confusion of the real UART method.....

so far 3-4 of us have proven this method to work and im sure many more of us will have great success

im sure a big thank you to dexstar is very much deserved - thank you again pal - you have saved us (and will save hundreds more in the future im sure)

Very well said and I have no doubts about that. Uart method is a bit complicated if i am not wrong but Dexstar's method is quick and works good and hopefully this will help other Dead bricks to come back into life.

Can you let us know... what exactly u doing in steps if thats ok?

Also can you attach photo of your PCB,, just to ensure you got the correct PCB as this wont work on clone I believe

its a genuine matricom box i follow the the info on the thread that i saw ,my box does not stuck on the matricom screen its just blank on the screen the light on the box is working even the reemote i would be happy if it did stuck on the matricom screen i am sure that i could fix that it happen once before and i fix it but this time its the real brick

Post number 298 and 301 of this thread is the solution for "NO display blue light on" and if you are following instructions as per the post and still not able to get your box working, you may try Uart method (it is bit complicated)

if you have done correctly the magic sd card (on a 8gb card not 4gb to be sure) and it has not worked then you need to follow the instructions using the 2 special files which dexstar has provided (on the same magic sd card with no other files present) Hold down the AV recovery button with SD card in and power on (careful not to slip while holding recovery as it wont work)

You may get the recovery screen you may not - hold down the recovery for at least 2 mins without slipping and then wait for another 5-10 mins with the black screen (if you get no other image) - please note you should get a flash of colour for a few seconds in the beginning (this indicates its doing something right)

You then prepare the original files on the same sd card (the original magic disk files as before). Power the system off by power (not by standby on the remote). Put SD card in again and hold recovery - power on and wait again for about 1 or 2 mins (if you see the recovery process on screen great if not just leave your box for another 20-30 mins while its on black screen)

Power off by taking power cable away and remove sd card - then power back on again you should see the matricom boot up now

but yes please tell us your motherboard version and model first so we can be sure your not wasting your time as you may have another clever clone which looks like an original but its in fact not

this one is a little bit too hard for me if i had a video on it that would be fine i didnt mention that i was adding the linux file when it got brick

you cant make the magic sd card for unbricking with a 2gb card

you need at least a 4gb but there is a chance it still wont work ......use an 8gb card for 100% reliability and your problems will be gone

but please post what board you have in system - undo the 4 screws underneath and carefully lift out the motherboard and it will be printed on there what version you have
