Solution for stuck in Android load AML8726-MX Dual Core TV Box Android 4.2.2

Here are an almost-idiot proof ROM by AndroidGadget Matricom Midnight G-BOX MX2.

Special SD card image makes your TV BOX (*) a Matricom G-Box Midnight MX2 TV Box device (ROM DATE = 9th of August 2013).

1gb / 8gb AML8726MX / Meson 6 / M6

It is very simple to install, just insert a 4gb or larger SD CARD into Windows PC, use this program to set up the card: http://hddguru.com/software/HDD-Raw-...02Portable.exe

Then use the extracted sd card image file (of your choosing) as a source and set a target to your sd card (4 gb), it writes the image, close the HDD RAW COPY program and eject the card (SAFELY - choose eject from PC, right click menu + eject).

FILE: Matricom image Matricom Midnight G-BOX MX2 v1.1.5+ image (August 9th, 2013)

WARNING: THIS METHOD WILL ERASE EVERYTHING FROM YOUR MX BOX AND INSTALL A NEW ROM. USE AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION.

Matricom image (Android 4.2.2): OTA works for XBMC etc
- Make sure MX device is powered off and power cable removed.
- Insert SD card you just created.
- Insert a match or a toothpick to reset hole - you will feel a click. (AV hole in the back)
- Power on the MX box by inserting power cable, while holding the match in the reset hole.
- It will boot to recovery and start installing ROM.
- After finishing it will give 2 errors - these do not matter.
- Remove power cable and insert it again, the device will boot as MATRICOM MIDNIGHT G-BOX MX2

THIS IMAGE WILL ALSO UNBRICK THE DEVICE.

Mine is G02REF, I've done created a special SD card as you guide, but when i insert this SD card into my hd-box, it can not boot.

However, I tried another SD card with Matricom 1.1.6 firmware. The hd-box is able to boot and install the rom but it always fail. This is what I got on the screen. Hope this can show you some idea to help me. Thank you in advance

I have tried a lot of things, to my dual core MX 4.2.2 j/b (not MX2) iptv box back up with android functions, since I bought this from china and did not play all movies properly. I ended up bricking it and could not get I to boot properly and the accidently got on a custom build Linux.

This worked for me but it took me a long time to figure out what did, because I tried everything. Finally got it a second time after about 3-days an countless hours .

I will keep these up for a couple of hours, it worked for me...note I have a MX dual core not a MX2 dual....the second file reads mx2 update..but it still worked for me....good luck...and try at your own risk,but if it does not work now, what risk do you have to lose.

You are trying to flash matricom 1.1.6 which is for a g18ref on your g02ref. You don't really want to do that.

check your error report make sure you are putting the correct firmware in... do you know what board you have , g02,g16,g18

you have a 4.0 which i believe is a G16ref board, try this style of firmware. I have a single core 4.0 midnight and i used a slav stlye firmware that works great for it, however it just gives you a movie box and remove all other android info/firmware out of box. Works Great... I have a dual core 4.2.2 mx G18ref ,that i bricked out of china,(would not play all movies) restored it with a recovery and second update, and got it to run better then it did out of the box, and now tells me its a MX2.....working great.exception with new style remote would not work after reflash (i use old style android remote to control it)

you have a g16 board...those files are for G18 board, it will not work

I have found a solution how to repair being stuck in Android loader screen:

AM6 Amlogic AML8726-MX Dual Core TV Box Android 4.2.2
g18ref board
1gb memory
8gb APP space

Download one of the roms suitable to and modify the factory_update_param.aml file
It will clean up the system and it boots normally.

The aml file will have to look like this (replace XXXXXXXXXX with package name):

--wipe_data
--wipe_cache
--wipe_media
--update_package=/sdcard/XXXXXXXXXX

And the solution to install G-BOX MX2 branded and encrypted ROM to generic MediaBox MX OEM is also available if anyone cares.

Hi, could somebody help me please. I noticed that in this solution offered by BenniBenassi, a file is created on the SD card called factory_update_param.aml, the first line of which is --set_efuse_version="version=1,mach_id=0xb8e"

In the official firmware for my MX Box (the new round shape one, but its still the amlogic chipset as in the square one) I have the same file, but the efuse entry is --set_efuse_version=2

Since I don't understand what the efuse commands actually do, my question is simple... Do I need to alter BenniBebnassi's version to set the version to 2 like it is on the original firmware for my box - or is that version setting specific to the firmware being installed rather than the box it's being installed on?

Also, both the official firmware and BenniBenassi's have the line --set_efuse_ethernet_mac
What does this do?

Any help in understanding this aml file and how it works would be highly apprecuiated - I don't want to brick my box by using wrong parameters.
