I recommend you always use the latest release for your hardware. As for the variant (Nano, Stock or TVStock), that's really your preference. Most prefer the pure Android TV experience for their media viewing, and so TVStock is definitely the most popular.

Using an Amlogic burn package (.img file) and USB Burning Tool is definitely the preferred flash method. It ensures you have a clean slate, just like from the factory. The OTA update (.zip file) is provided if you don't have a male-to-male Type A USB cable or are just doing an incremental update.

Thanks for your help. Do you suggest to do the procedure using a computer and the usb burning tool because the previous time i did through ota and a usb flash.

I'll have an update later today based on the new OEM firmware (20170801.150811.V0321). Maybe that will help.

Thanks for your quick reply. When it crushed with your rom or maybe with my mix of roms as you said i did i opened twrp and in the wipe i did swipe to factory reset. Then it stucked again for a while until to synchronize with my gmail but now it boots ok. So after all my mistakes you think now its ok to start loading my apps? Now i checked in settings that the box runs M8S PRO-userdebug 7.1.1. NMF 26Q 20170524.163713.V0321.
In the second box which steps should i do for the right way with no mistakes. Thanks for all my friend

As I wrote in the original post, a data wipe is recommended the first time you install my custom ROM over the OEM firmware. This happens automatically if you install the .img file via USB Burning Tool, but you have to explicitly check the box to do that if using the Updater app with the .zip file. So, when you originally had a mix of OEM apps and Google apps, that was not a desired configuration. Doing a factory reset from Settings will set everything right (or you can enter TWRP recovery and do it there too).

I need your help. As i told you i installed your rom and i have some problems. First of all i had changed my firmware to the m8s pro after contacting with gearbest to 20170707.094011.V0321 via zip file with usb. When i first opened run V.0221. Then i download your file "updated M8Spro V0321 Nano 20170807. Zip and i installed it through usb. It run well although sometimes lost the wifi for seconds and today i installed my apk and suddenly crushed. No reboot nothing. I did wipe data and i make it all over from the beginning. Now i noticed that there are no apk from the m8s pro from factory such as air pin pro or you tube although the first time i installed your rom there were all. I don't care about apks i lost i just wanted to help me to fix it in the right way. I did all the steps with usb because i don't have any laptop or pc. Please help me to set it in the right way because i have one more m8s pro in the box which i have to fix it also. Help!!!!!

I have recently bought two mecool m8s pro from gearbest and i had all those problems. After a tough week with speaking with gearbest and installing the firmware they told me 20170707.094011.V0321 it seemed that the problem solved. But after two days it couldn't load and i did a factory reset and i decided to send them back and get the refund. The problem was with the expensive travel. 40 euros for the box which costs 69. Until i found your rom. I installed it successfully thank god even i haven't believed that i could and i will test it for a few days to see how it goes. Thank you very much. Greetings from Greece

Hello, I wanted to say thank you for this rom. I have the 32GB version of the hardware and the Nano ROM seems to work okay for the most part.

I tried the TVStock ROM one but Netflix would not work. Also on the TVStock version I went to "about" in the system settings and it would just crash the system settings.

I installed the Nano ROM and netflix didn't show up in the app store, but works fine when I manually installed the APK I found online.

I have one problem that I'm wondering if someone might be able to help me with:
I can watch netflix for hours, or youtube or twitch, but it seems that once I start to open multiple applications, my device "locks up". I can still move my mouse around. Sometimes applications continue to function (for example discord chat still displays new messages), but I'm unable to click or type things. In most cases I can still click on the top to bring down the system panel, but I can't click on the settings gear. To be clear I click on it, and the button lights up, so I know my input device is working, but the button doesn't actually function. sometimes when this happens I can click the home button and it works, sometimes not. I cant run any other applications from my home screen. To fix this, I not only have to cycle the power, but I have to leave it unplugged for 10 seconds or so, otherwise I only get a black screen or it sticks on the nexus logo.

My best guess is that something is wrong with my RAM or something is wrong with the ROM. I've come to this conclusion because it only happens when I multitask. If I start up the box and go to many different apps, it happens quickly. If I start the box and only start Netflix, then it runs for hours and hours just fine, and I can open another app after. This leads me to believe that it's not CPU temp.

Is there maybe a benchmark app someone could recommend to help me isolate my hardware from the equation? Is there something I can do to provide more details?

    Please follow the instructions here:
    http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...037#post664037

It's essential to follow the rules how to first make the bootable sd. card and than to insert sd card when box is powered off than to turn. it on while pushing the reset button . Also when the installation is done, quickly remove sd card after rebooting .

Personally, I always use USB Burning Tool. Can anyone who uses Bootcardmaker help out here?

If that's not present, it understandably fails.

At this point, you've got to flash the Amlogic burn package, either using USB Burning Tool or an SD card using BootcardMaker.
Hi thanks for the response. Im using bootcardmaker and after i turn on the device, it keeps direct to twrp.how to make it automatically load the img?ive tried many times.tq
