It's not that bad. KODI creates a slightly higher temperature, but can be used normally. So it is with other tv box device because it raises the temperature of 10c higher than SPMC or FTMC.

According to trebor's post #7, it's the AP6255. But, keep in mind that if the TX9 Pro is like other boxes, there might be variations. The box is advertised as supporting 802.11ac though, so I wouldn't be surprised to find QCA9377 or maybe AP6335.

For basic use (internet browsing, youtube, kodi) would you guys recommend this or the TX92 2GB? Both the TX92 2GB and TX9 Pro seem to use DDR3; this obviously have more RAM. But the TX92 seems to have better cooling... not sure if that should be a concern. I think the TX92 has a slightly better design too.

The TX92 is currently ~69 Canadian $ and the TX9 Pro is 73.

edit: nm I found a code for to bring the 3GB TX92 down to 71.
