Then for the heck of it the other day I just put PMID701c in google and found ya'll! Now rooted and have a brand new toy to play with! I love rooting! I have rooted every android thing that has come into my possession! Thank ya'll very much! Gonna root my moms' too!

Getting Google Play to work
I just picked up one of these and coudln't get Play to work, kept crashing. Noticed there was a Google Terms and Conditions behind the crash message that I coudln't accept since it closed when I clicked OK on the crash message that popped up in front.
Tried all the different APK's I could find and all failed to run. Finally found on Polaroid's site a link for the Amazon market and a few others. One was called 1Market, which I downloaded the APK, copied to the tablet, and installed fine.
After futzing with trying to get Play to work I finally decided to just try the other markets to see what I could find. When I fired up the 1Market it had a Google Terms and Conditions that I had to accept, just like the one that Play was trying to get me to accept. I excitedly accepted, closed 1Market, and Google Play worked!
Been fine for a couple days now, downloaded Flash and everything else I was looking for so that seems to have been the final piece for me to get it working.
Power
---edit--- Oh my tablet is the Polaroid PMID 703C with the included case and USB keyboard. Pretty slick, on sale at Shopko for $99 but sold out pretty quickly.

Wow! That sounds nice! I have the file somewhere here that I downloaded to get play store. But it doesn't do play store, it installs the market. But it works good and I would rather have that than any of those other market wannabes! LOL!!

This method worked on PMID703c
Thanks to all that have posted info for the Polaroid tablets! Just picked up a PMID703c from shopko with case/usb keyboard for $99. Used this process to install current Google Play store. Worked perfectly with root explorer 2.20.1.
Tablet shows up as expected in devices if I go into Play store settings from my PC as well.
Thanks again, and I cant wait to see whats next.

Here is that other way, step by step (Thanks a million, xda-developers!):
1. Download and gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip (forget where I got it; Google for it...),
extract it to a folder, & copy that folder to the SD card
2. Download the PAID version of Root Explorer & install on the tablet
(A Google search will find THAT, too. BTW, the FREE version won't allow R/W access)
3. Open the Root Explorer app & navigate to the transferred .apk files
4. Select the GoogleServiceFramework.apk & install
5. When complete, click "Done" & return to the file location for Vending.apk
6. Long-press Vending.apk & select the "Move" option on pop-up menu
7. Navigate to /system/app folder
6. Change mount option from RO to RW (read-only to read-write)
7. Paste Vending.apk into the /system/app folder
8. Long-press Vending.apk & select "Permissions" from pop-up menu
9. Change permissions to match all other apps in this folder (rw-r--r--)
10. Install Vending.apk
11. Reboot your tablet (*I* didn't seem to need to, but it can't hurt, I suppose...)
Market now works as advertised. No crashies.
Icon ultimately updates to the Play Store icon, and now says 'Play Store'. This may be due to my setting updates to automatic in the app.

With LiquidLimez' Google Play script, everything is now pretty much automatic. It's surprising that people are still using this method. Low road, high road... Both eventually get you to Dublin.
The files I recommended at the time were dated then and now, but Play Store updates itself to the latest version sooner or later anyway. Then again, doing it this way doesn't change the original build.conf file in any way, either. As a result, your tablet name remains intact in Settings...

HELP! Won't turn on, only flashes POLAROID
My daughter has loved her tablet since I got it and rooted it (it's our second one, after my oldest got hers and I rooted it I had to get another for the younger one.) After almost 3 months it won't come on. When the power button is pushed the screen lights and POLAROID logo screen comes up, then flashes off and about 5 seconds later it does it again. It's a continuous loop and never does anything else. I've charged it, held the reset button and I don't know what else to do! Any suggestions welcome but I'm at a loss and hate that it's happening. Other tablet which is a few weeks older is fine, never had any probs!~Amanda

Tilt Sensor (for Temple Run) HELP!
Hi, I just got my Polaroid tablet yesterday, and I found and downloaded Temple Run. I can't get more than a few turns because it won't tilt. I've tried tilting all 360 degrees. I've set settings>display>accelerometer coord. system to "accelerometer uses a special coord. system for some games" (I've tried it on both settings). I've set it to auto-rotate (I don't know if this affects it, I've also tried both settings for this). Is there anything else I can do to fix it so Temple Run will work?
I've also heard that people have got it to work with a tilt app, but I couldn't find anything. Would this help?
On an unrelated note, Adobe Flash also doesn't work (they stopped updating for android 4.0+ for whatever reason). Has anybody found a way for this to work?
Thanks!

Browser seems lag
The browser seems to lag. I got the PMID701c for my kid. great work on the google play. but the browser lags like crazy. To my surprise I have not seen any other comments on it. It seems to load quickly but then stops and I get a pop up that says the browser isn't working and and Do I want to wait or close it. Real annoying. Any thoughts? P.S. running ICS
