Yes, i got that and already went to recovery menu. But i was convinced that from recovery you can only do update with OTA zip file, not with .IMG file ?

There is 2 ways
1. install terminal app and type reboot update
2. When you power up box keep pressing menu button (3 dash key) on remote and this will triger sd card

What is the way to trigger this .img flash installation , cause Pro L doesnt have a reset button ?

I can burn this image with burn card maker, but how to trigger it ?

For the OEM rom it is not a bug/issue with the app, there just no live picker app.

Yes, I had to go back to force_land because the original setting caused unexpected orientation changes in the Setup Wizard. One of the pages would just spontaneously flip.

I've updated my source for LiveWallpapersPicker from the APKMirror link, and it will propagate to all new releases.

you said in a previous post "I'm now setting "persist.sys.app.rotation=original", which I believe is also the default."
Just to let you know this update update_M8S_PRO_L-V0928_Nano-20180109.zip is still setting "persist.sys.app.rotation=force_land"
I went into build.prop and manually changed the entry to "persist.sys.app.rotation=original" and can confirm that works fine
just wanted to point out the update is still inserting "persist.sys.app.rotation=force_land" and not "persist.sys.app.rotation=original"

Link of the Burn package Nano variant is pointed to 20171202 version instead of 20180109. Link of Stock variant is ok.
Could you update the link of Nano to the newest build?

Good, since I wasn't looking forward to debugging TWRP source. I have enough challenges just building it.

This is based on the OEM firmware from VideoStrong, not the Shiningworth All-in-One ROM, so it's only got support for the QCA9377 wireless chipset.

Perfect and fast installation with TWRP, the rom + Magisk 14.0 - very smooth installation without any issues

Guest thanks a lot for your great job. Also i have now the TWRP 3.2.1-0 - wonderful. - only the dates are not correct of the backup file-names, but the backup seemed to finish normally in TWRP which i made right now.
See the picture. With the older TWRP 3.1.1 the backup filenames and dates were correct.

I flashed with Magisk 14.0 because some time ago i tried with 14.5 and it did not work, got big problems. Now there is the 15.5 Magisk stable out, someone tried to install it on this box with Magendanz rom?
I am afraid to try without any informations before.

Guest perhaps you did not see my comments concerning wrong backup filename with TWRP 321 new versjon? (but TWRP is working fine, only the backup filename is wrong)

SORRY, i made now the backup once more and now all dates and filenames are correct, strange, very strange. I don´t understand, the 1. time i made backup with this new TWRP 3.2.1-0 the filename was wrong, see my picture above.

OK, important is, that all works fine now, thanks once more for this great rom.

Thanks, installing the nano ROM did solve some weird problems I've had with Plex on this box. Plex does make a lot of assumptions when it detects Android TV and some of them were obviously wrong for the M8S but for some reason, the Plex devs thinks it's a great idea to hide settings from the user when on Android TV.

although it's connected to an 5Ghz network @ 433Mbps the speed is slow as hell.
A speedtest reveals only 50MB/s download. Also when I download from store it seems to go like with 1MB/s to download any app.

I have the same problem. Wifi very, very slow. It got a bit better when I disabled wifi encryption but it is only temporary solution. Any ideas how to improve wifi speed?
