I have not seen that situation.. You may want to do a system reset, what you are seeing is definitely not normal.

I need to reflash the OTA with wipes.

I think is for touch the build.prop to try to fix Netflix grey bar, no is ok with the modification i comment before and the Google Assistant.

Best rom ever, Netflix FHD, HBO Nordic, Amazon Prime (but look like SD).... all work fine

my box came with firmware 7.1.2 and I couldn't flash it with original firmware in this forum coz it's lower. I tried this rom it suceed but stuck at nexus logo.
Is there any way we can change the logo back to mecool so I can send this back to shop for a return?

One curious thing.

If you pair the Voice remote with the system (Vol- + OK) all works fine with the remote... but if you press the voice button you get the message "UI crashed, stop working... "
And the UI system reboots.

Maybe the remote have hard coded a call to de ATV UI assistant.... any chance to change the call other search system with no crash? Will be the perfecto rom, better than ATV.

Hi, clarkss12. I'd like to know if the older L model came with a bulkier remote which is more like a traditional tv remote. And if the older model came with Android OS while the newer one with Android TV OS? Thanks.

I have 3 "L"s, one I killed thanks to P.X, haha. The first one came with the original Mecool launcher (non-ATV leanback launcher) and "standard" IR remote. I THINK my second "L" also shipped with the Mecool launcher and it also shipped with the "standard" IR remote. My third "L" box was ordered with the Bluetooth Voice remote, which obviously came with that awesome combo IR/Bluetooth remote, and the Google Leanback Laucher (ATV).

Sorry, can you tell me how you did it, because i swicht off the status bar and still have the grey bar.

Edit /system/build.prop and modify this line:

persist.sys.hasnavigationbar=false
persist.sys.control.topbar=false
persist.sys.has.topbar=false

Reboot.

As far as I know, it's not possible for the model with TV OS since there are no firmwares for the model with TV OS. Correct me if I were wrong though.

I have two "L" boxes, one that came with the Bluetooth Voice remote and an older version withOUT the Voice remote. The one WITH Voice is running stock firmware, but modded with a fan. It runs 24/7 and NEVER freezes or reboots (it used to freeze occasionally, before I added the fan, but not sure if adding the fan was the cure).

I have installed Magendanz's latest ATV ROM on my older "L" without the Bluetooth Voice remote, and my Bluetooth Voice remote from my other box WILL pair for Bluetooth control but the mic does not work. When I click on the "mic" button, it brings up the ** assistant **, but she does not ** hear ** me.

So, in other words, I would be afraid like Jeffers, to install a modded ROM onto my Bluetooth Voice remote box, for fear it would kill the Voice portion.

If not megendaz's ROM may have fixed the problem?

I am not using megendaz's ROM as I don't know if I will lose remote voice control.

Yes I am using it, but still experience the freezing issue. like someone else said it could be heat related. but I can't verify. I've actually loaded LibreElec on it and its been running smooth for the last 3 days, no freezing.

clarkss, thanks for info, these Mecool 912 boxes seem to be prone to overheating problems from what I have read on the web, one of the solutions is fitting a fan like you have done :-) I think it's very disappointing that Mecool have released these boxes with the overheating problem.

Maybe megendanz will bring out a ROM based on the Mecool M8S L voice control ROM :-)

you've never had the unit freeze? or go unresponsive if left idle for a few days? if not you must be turning it off/on daily.

Never had problems with mine & i use the latest magendaz rom. Amazing youtube 4k hdr and netfkix hd hdr.

Guest i love your rom, all is working so great, i don´t have any heating or freezing problems and the apps are running very smooth.

But i have two questions to you, perhaps you can help:

1) Sky Go Germany released a new update of the app and now it is not possible more to run this app on rooted devices,but i need root. So i changed successfully from SuperSu to Magisk 16.0. Now i can hide my Sky Go app and it is running again. But there is other problem, that the app don´t accept to watch on external tv monitor (as i do with HDMI connection). The former version of the app worked and did not give this error, but now i can see the picture running with a big message in front of it.

Have you a possibility to bypass this in your future rom-update to make the app thinking that is no external monitor connected?
As for example on fones or tablets it is running well, because they have their screen integrated as well.


2) The Magix 16.0 is installed correctly, but when i check the SafetyNet Test, the ctsProfile did not pass, why? And what means it? See the anexed picture.
On my Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus with LineageOS 14.1 installed (also rooted) i have installed the same Magisk 16.0 verison and the SafetyTest pass all ok.

I have the same problem like Tombraga with Magisk i have a ctsprofile false in the nano stock of magendanz rom...Can anyone help me with this issue?Thank you for reading me an waiting for the reply.
