NEW - CX919 - 4.2.2 - Finless ROM 1.5

strange thing is when you check storage in the settings it shows sd and external sd fine
but the native explorer and ES Explorer can't acces the internal SD.
external is shows and can be accesed.
even after some reboots its not there.

I found this happened to me if I flashed clockwork recovery before the first boot. It looks like the first boot sets up the internal SD.

can flash cwm recovery at same time with this rom? for what? is usefull for?
i never flashed cwm in my 919, because cant flash roms via zip files, if i understood correctly
somebody can explain the utility for flashing cwm?

for this rom: wifi works ok? with 1.4 i have 65mbps never 150mbps and my router is capable, and ia have 100mbps cable :S

rom is smooth so far no issue. xbmc works well. i dont have any 1080p however 720p plays without any flaw. huluplus is not working its being an issue with stock rom also. it works only with nexus hd2 dont know what is the reason.

What version of xbmc are you using? Many have said 12.2 frodo works but I've always gotten way smoother results when using Mx player with xaf

I have noted that you included various Kernel choices (including 6 with the frame skipping FIX), and that you set the flash tool to use Sam321 No Overclock 720 kernel:

Stock 720
Stock 1080
Sam321 No Overclock 720 frame skip fix

Hoabycsr No Overclock (400mhz) 720 frame skip fix

However, i am a little worried to use the 800mhz and the 1080 ones, because I had noted to many complains about the CX-919 getting to hot or warm... So I would like to know which is the better and faster 1080 or 720 versions, that you recommend to safely use it without over-heating problems?

I currently have in settings/internal-storage a total space of 2.95GB (NAND FLASH=3.61GB)... Will I get 4GB if I use the 4GB parameter file options?


How is Netflix and XBMC working in this latest version?

I am using XBMC v13.0-ALPHA6, and would like to know if I will have to change to another newest version of XBMC?

One last but very important question: Is WIFI working faster and more stable?

flashed it with stock recovery and had internal sd.
after that flashed cwm and it works. Thanks again for the tip.

BUT........

WIFI is terrible, highest was 13 mbps download speed 120 kbps on lan, not even internet.
reflashed finless 1.4 i got 65 mbps wifi again.
needs some work there i guess.

Cam (logitech c270) did work for a moment with the native camera app.
after that got reboots.

Backingup complete roms to try new ones.
made a backup of Finless 1.4 on sd-card (ext) flashed 1.5 tryed it flash 1.4 and restored the backup.
I must keep a good working rom, if the tablet does not work, i got an angry wife .

Please see if the wifi issue is kernel related or not!
Try stock kernels and see if wifi has problems. If it does then I can fix it.

The kernel from my 1.4 ROM has the skipping problem! But I may learn how to patch stock kernels for the vsync patch.

nandroid backup can be made now in cx919, that thing is new for me

XBMC notes

Seems to run well.

As for xbmc I tried :

Gotham alpha 1. No go. Stuttering mkv playback
Gotham alpha 6. No go
Gotham latest nightly. Worked pretty well but still some stutter.

Going to stick with 12.1 xaf for now.

Went with the default sam321 720 kernel (not tried any others, sorry) - running video output at 50hz (europe) - installed the official XBMC v12.2 (not the xaf, not the nightlies, not the libstagefright builds...etc).

The Good:

XBMC 12.2 runs pretty good - much better than all the various builds I tried on the old stock ROM - all the streaming services playback in the internal XBMC player. Streaming SD sources playback with no frame dropping or choppiness. Stable - all XBMC functions and plugins seems to work like they should.

The (not too) bad:

Very occasional choppiness (only during complex fast action scenes) on 720p sources (only tested streaming) - but still real-world viewable (usually rate dropping only lasts a couple of seconds, and still manages around 5-15fps). You will probably only ever experience this with 'action' movies etc, and even then, only a few times during the whole movie. Something I can live with. Problem not seen on SD sources.

Slight a/v sync problems in some sources (again, only tested streaming) - about 0.15 seconds out - easily adjustable with XBMC video player's audio delay function. Too early to say what percentage of sources affected.

I have installed the Rom with 1080 overclocked to 800mkz. Best rom I have experienced so far.

The good:

video:
Netflix works 100% tested for over 2 hours. No problema!!! Tested XBMC, for what I used it its working fine. I am realy not a fan of this application so do not take my opinion to heart.

Video Conferencing:
My Logitech C170 works 100%. Tried Skype; working 100%. Also tried Hangouts again 100%.

Performance: Being overclocked to 800mhz and stick handled without incidents for hours. Much better than the stock kernel selected by default. No heat issued either.

The Bad:

Hulu Plus does not work. And this is something that the community should work with. Netflix and Hulu are the two most used streaming apps used in the USA. And this sticks main purpose is streaming content to the TV so these two apps are a must. Sorry to say it but Strauzo has it working on his 4.2.2 ROM so I do not think is Hulu's compatibility with Android 4.2.2 the problem. It has something to do with whatever code the Chinese did to android 4.2.2 And also Hulu is working on my Galaxy S4 running 4.2.2 no issues.

Please work this Hulu issue out and for what I am going to be using this CX919 stick; which is streaming and video conferencing over Skype would be 100% working solution.

Again thanks for all the developers that worked on achieving this level of maturity for these RK3188 sticks compared to stock.

PS. Can anybody confirm what other webcams are working with this Rom. I would like to have more resolution than my C170 currently offers.
