I need some help.
I haven't used Netflix in a while on my MECOOL M8S PRO Plus and when I tried today, it shows me this error:
Netflix has encountered an error. Retrying in 30 seconds. Code: ui-800-3 (307003)

Netflix SD is working on my Mecool KIII Pro running the latest stock rom with burnkey_1.03 installed. My modded Netflix_v5.3.1_HD.apk stopped working with an error message a few weeks ago, so I hunted around for another and found netflixlatest.hdonly.apk on xda based on 4.12.2, which seemed to work in HD after you let in run a few minutes, but only SD now. Some of the other apps posted here work in SD for me, too.
If you can't run Netflix at all, maybe a buggy custom rom that tries to force HD is the culprit? Or keep looking for other versions of the Netflix app to find one that works.
To try and get HD, I flashed Magisk to pass Google safetynet and hide root from Netflix, but it didn't make any difference, nor does running a module to hide liboemcrypto.so (deleting it is a waste of time, too, it works in SD without deleting it). It seems Netflix rejects widevine LI and forces L3, or that's what I assume based on my ESN in netflix settings (Nandroid-PRV-T-L3-VS===PRO) but maybe the L3 in the ESN is not related to widevine.
Btw, running Test Pattern in Netflix seems unreliable as a guide to true resolution, or Netflix HD accounts are not delivering 1080 on many supposedly supported devices. Tested my 4K Samsung TV and it's running at only 720, ditto my LG G6, even though both are supposed to deliver 1080. My Roku runs 1080 but the picture is not as good as my Samsung TV on 720 (though that is probably a product of the TV's superior inbuilt player).
So I have alternatives for getting Netflix in HD, but it would be nice to get it in the Mecool box, too. I could always install Librelec Kodi on an SD card and boot to that for 720 Netflix but what a hassle. Hopefully a new burnkey will turn up, though I suspect the manufacturer has been threatened with legal action and won't give it out again to someone who will finger them as the author.
