I don't know what is wrong with my setup (or the rom) with the smb shares not showing up. I couldn't even get ES Explorer to find the shares. Very odd. It was working fine with 1.4a. Anyhow, I have UPnP working and XMBC is playing 1080p without a problem. Very nice.

Again... congrats to the devs... GREAT JOB!!

EDIT: I found the problem. Pilot error. Now working great!

I wouldn't be so afraid of that cuz I've heard about the x7 being overclocked to 1.9 ghz and still no heat problems at all. It might seem to you that the x7 could have heat problems because the case is completely closed, but the true is that the x7 has a heatsink instead of ventilation as cooling method (ofcouse it would be cooler with a fan and some holes, but you don't need that its more than enough wit the heatsink),
so no worries ! just try the rom and see if it works well for you ( the only way your x7 could have heat problems is if your device in prticular was defective in that case it won't damage it just dont keep using the oc kernel if you seem to have problems)

Time will tell. Just finished my install this morning. No heat issues yet, but I am not really pushing a heavy oc. So far all media (video and music) is playing fine. I plan on leaving XBMC permanently loaded up for the next few to see what happens.

I am running Alpha8 of XBMC, and during setup it crashed the machine a couple of times. Even powered it off once. But I chalk that up to XBMC and my own pilot error. Now that it is all setup, it has been running smoothly for a couple of hours... I will see what it looks like in a day or 2. But right now, it feels the same to my touch, as it did before the oc. I know it must be warmer, but I really can't tell yet.

Phja, could you upload a 1080p kernel with CPU overclock at 1920, gpu 600, ddr 720? I would really appreciate it!

Isnt it true that when it just @ homescreen sitting there it run @ 1200?
              So that should be ok..
Only when it run @ 1800 constantly it will heat up to a point that is gets to hot?
And isnt there a temp meter that will shut it down when it gets to hot?

Its just stock firmware with pj kernel. So I dont gonna flash it I already using finless 1.6 with pj kernel.
First there wasnt a problem with playback now there is? Minix didnt have shutdowns and freezes so they say.
Now they are gonna put pj kernel in it. and hope it plays better ....

                  sticking with finless 4 show...

I guess i have broken hardware with my X7. Many shutdowns using diffent apps with no overclock rom. All other reports here seems to have stable box. And the only thing have connected is rj45 cable and a T2 airmouse.

Could be something wrong with the power supply. Did you get the EU or US plug?
                      Have you tried another one?

Hmm, Minix commented that their pre 006 firmware on 720p no oc runs better than Finless 1.6 - so has 006 got the pj kernel? Assuming it has I guess Finless 1.6 is kind of based on minix 006?

I'm losing track of all these ROMs and kernels and where development is going!!

Couple of freezes not shutdowns for me also. Have to pull the plug to reboot.

Once while 4 Apps updated at once, another when Google chrome was downloading a couple of files.

Also had once where could not wake from sleep. TV showed a input was connected when I woke device but no picture, again, pulled the plug.

Using phjanderson non overclocked 720 kernal

I have found in the past though, that when everthing is set up and under normal usage my freezes stop.

Pls try overclocked kernel. I had random reboots with stock kernel with any firmware. Now it's gone. I had screen freezes too using my Mele F10 pro. Some users reported that happens with minix air mouse. I realized that after some post that could be the problem.
At the moment my system has been working since Friday.
                                No creases, freezes at all.
