And for other devices, 4K tv from most manufacturers as they can afford to pay Netflix $5m a year.

Another solution is to get a powerful Windows tv box for around $100 and then use a Kodi addon to add your favorite sites to open fullscreen like Netflix and in that way play in HD.
You can then also install an Android emulator and run normal Android apps apart from HD Netflix.
Amazon + Roku + Apple aren't android and Nvidia Shield is way to expensive. Too much hassle the windows option but thanks!

I guess that leaves Mibox and Jetstream (which I didn't know!).

Between those 2 Jetstream does have ethernet. Any advice between those 2?

btw: I got a windows 10 machine too and I must say the Microsoft Store app for Netflix sucks with keyboard navigation (I was expecting arrows + Enter). there are 3rd party tools to fix the netflix home screen navigation but you still can't search easily and other issues... such a shame it is not behaving as the androidTV version.

Apart the Shield, none of the alternatives can be as poweful and versatile as the Mecool. So I am now using the Firestick for Netflix and Prime Video, and the Mecool for Kodi and emulation. Unfortunately were bound to use two devices

Ps3 or above can handle netflix fhd - it could be better solution to fire stick and mi box in shit countries where price is similar.

That's interesting because from what I see a ps3 can now come at as little as 70$... But it doesn't support Kodi?

No. It does not have an Android OS.

I have come to the same unfortunate conclusion. I'm going for the Shield and get rid of the Mecool if by the end of the year no fix pop-up.

You sure as F aren't here to help.

If a 20$ Roku was what I wanted I think I would have gotten one in the first place. I need an android running box with netflix and amazon HD.
Also filmin, Mubi and the app to watch my TV provider online.

I need an android box. What the hell are you following this thread for? You haven't help one ******* bit. Go troll somewhere else.

+1. The Shield is the only Android device that will give him all the streaming options he is asking for. Or as you suggest, get an inexpensive device just for the streaming services, and use the Mecool for other things. There is NO one box solution, at least that I have found.

Even today, I had to watch a movie on my Mecool KM8 running CoreELEC, because my shied would not play it correctly.

OT: Just out of curiosity, in what case is Coreelec better than the Shield? Unfortunately I don't own a Shield but I thought it was the perfect device... I have a S905x device with Coreelec, and I'm wondering what it can run better than a munch more expensive box
