I took a brief look at WinSCP and decided it is very similar to FileZilla which I have been using for over 20 years. On the basis of "better the devil you know", I think I would prefer to use that. Before I attempt it, can you please confirm whether the job can be successfully done via Explorer as you first suggested because that would be my preferred choice?
Edit:
Curious as to whether I could connect via SSH using FileZilla, I attempted it and it worked instantly. Rather than stop there and finish the task later, I just dragged the remote.conf file across and closed the connection. Then I rebooted the AM6. Lo and behold, the Bose remote works perfectly, just as you guessed it would! So, no need to worry about my previous questions and thanks very much for all your assistance.

And by the way, last night I watched a movie with zero sound drop-outs so it seems that CoreELEC is the solution to this problem in Android.
I do however, have other Kodi related issues.
After the movie, I went into my music library and discovered an option called Party Mode. Not knowing what it was, and I still don't, I decided to select it so I could see what it does. It instantly went crazy scanning my entire music library. I tried to stop it but there was no response to any buttons. The first time I compiled my library, it took almost 2 days to complete which is why I was desperate to stop it. Fed-up and unable to make it respond, I shut down the Bose amp, my projector, and attempted to shut down the AM6 via its power button. The AM6 refused to shut down. I could have just pulled the power lead but figured that may corrupt the Kodi installation so I just retired for the night. This morning, I found it had finally shut itself down.
What has Party Mode done and, assuming it has created a monster playlist, can I find that and delete it?
Next issue; when I viewed my music in Kodi on Android, I only had to click on a song and it would play. Last night, no matter how many I clicked on, none would play. Finally, I found that by entering Settings > Player > Music, I could view all the contents of my music drive and clicking on any song made it play. Clearly, that's not the way it's supposed to work so what have I missed please?
