I tried to unpack the ROM MK802IV FW (131017): S / N 201307 **** till now

from the Rikomagic using unyaffs.exe, but not me ....
It's always useful message:

It works very well for me. I just run the start.exe as admin, then I load the iso file and press exract.
Then press exract for system and after that for boot.

So it finally worked, had I downloaded another version ....
Likewise, if I replace the kernel, the video still mows, it's nothing ...

As my S400(cozyswan) is rooted by default(came that way). Can someone point a way to backup the kernel and tell me how to play with kernels?

I might be lucky and avoid flashing a new rom as my original rom seems one of the latest I've seen.

With apps I could do that, I mean I've done with my DHD phone, with recovery managers I've played with many roms, with kernel apps I've changed many kernels but the kernel apps need to know on what phone/tablet are installed otherwize you can't install them/they don't work.

With 4EXT recovery or CWM I can do whatever I want :P

few quick questions i would be very grateful for any answers to.

first, i am a complete newbie.

i have a S400(cozyswan) which came with 1.7 neomode hybrid....it is fast and generally i am happy with the performance

i have a couple of issues though, and i wonder will these be fixed in the next release of this rom.

1. streaming of online media...films etc...is very slow and buffers a lot....i have used the same app on an ipad grabbing the same film and no such buffering....i have a strong wifi signal and am near router.....the app i mainly use is 'show box' but i am guessing its maybe down to the same issue that people with netflix acting the same way on this rom.

2. pointer clicks are not registered in some apps....i have a wireless keyboard / trackpad and it works perfect....but using temple run as an example menu clicks are not recognized

3. if the next release of this rom comes out...and does address these issues.....do i have to flash the whole rom and start again with the device....or is there some way to flash kernels keeping my existing set up of apps and content in apps ??.....and do i flash using a desktop pc tool ?

4. and is there a way to change the internal space partition which is currently set to less than 1gb for apps....even if i can use appstosd.

This is a question for you:
Which firmware you are using as origin of your custom ROM?

I am asking you because if I use your ROM 1.7(designed for MK802 IV and CX919) or Finless 1.6 (designed for CX919) I have a lot of crash/reboot (signal 11 - SIGSEV) and it is systematic on some games.

BUT, when I use the latest official firmware from Rikomagic (17/10/2013) I have no crash when running the same games.

I unpacked the Original Rikomagic firmware and I remark that the loader is more recent than the one you use in your ROM.

May be it is better to use the Rikomagic MK802 IV New Wifi Original FW as base of your awesome ROM instead of CX919 one (if it is the case of course).

I have used the best avail firmware for it.
It was from cx9xx.
Will take a look at the Ricomagic Firmware and will see what I can do that we get the best from it.

After more investigations:
Plug an usb keyboard triggers the unmount of the nand flash.

Just go to system settings, click storage, then plug your usb keyboard, you will see that the nand flash gets unmounted.
So mount it back solves temporarly the problem (no need to format).

I would like to know if this "unmount of the NAND" problem has been fix or not?

I am asking, because I am still having 2 or 4 times a day, automatic unmount NAND without doing nothing or running any APPs...

I already try to mount it back, but this solves temporarly the problem, because without any reason it unmount again and again...

Hope tha neomode could fix this problem in the following update!
