Thanks would you give me a quick step by step doing it the other way... Not a copy and paste of the steps already out there. I think if you did it it might be a little bit more clear... Would be greatly appreciated!

Full Instructions list is in a notepad file that says (read me) in the downloaded Rom .zip.

Can anyone else confirm that HBO GO is not working on the prometheus with Finless 1.3 installed? It is not working for me and I would like to know if it is just me.
I saw earlier in this thread that there might be some codecs missing, is there maybe instructions on how to install the missing codecs so that I can get HBO GO working properly? I tried to google what codec HBO GO uses but I came up with nothing...
Newb question probably but thank you!

What I do every time is, after you have copied the four files and one folder listed in the README FIRST.txt into the root of your SD card.
1. insert your SD card into the SD card slot, make sure it clicks into place!
2. unplug the power from your prometheus.
3. with the power unplugged, make sure the power switch on the devise is in the off position.
4. wait 30 seconds after confirming the power switch is in the off position.
5. plug the power back into the devise with the power button still in the off position.
6. put your paperclip into the reset hole in the back, make sure you feel the button get pressed inside.
7. hold the paperclip pressed, now turn on the devise with the power button.
8. you will see the front blue light blink three times, hold the paperclip pressed until the third blink, then let the paperclip out.
9. If you do not see anything on your TV, wait! do not turn off the prometheus! I would give it 20 to 30 minutes depending on the speed of your SD card.
The only problem that I encountered was that the prometheus did not like any of my GSKILL SD cards, after the light blinked three times I would let the paperclip out and then it would try to read the SD card and then it would just boot into the existing rom, skipping the update. I had to use another brand to get it to update, I would also recommend to use a slower rated SD card for the update (you can use a faster one after the update is complete) class 4. After the update was completed I could use my GSKILL SD cards just fine with the rom it just did not like them with the initial update.
I hope this helps you out!

Resolution default setting
Hi Bob,
First let me say a big Thank You for your great hard work! I think Tronsmart itself owe you a lot for your time and investment in their products, without you I believe their products would have become less popular.
I want to flash this ROM, but the think is I'm having an old TV (no HDMI) which can work only in the 480i / 576i resolution. When I first got my device it wouldn't display on my TV since it was on a 720p / 1080p resolution which my TV is not supported and I have to connect it to other HDMI TV and then change the resolution setting so that it can be displayed on my TV.
My question is if there is a way I can pre-configure the ROM to use a specific resolution?
Best Ragards,
Shay

New guy here.... well, new to Freaktab, but Ive been on android since Cupcake.
I have a G-BOX MX2 clone and I was wondering if this firmware will work. Ive tried several times and though i can get the DroidTV firmware to install without a hitch, Finless 1.3 gives me a dead android in recovery. Ive tried it following the instructions several times.

Does this player come with an IR receiver? If not, is there a way to attach an IR receiver on it and control the player with a IR remote? If so, would it be possible to use a "power on" button on the IR remote control to power up the player?
Cheers
Thanks in advance.

My Prometheus has finally arrived. Weird big black box resembling the spaceship. I thought it would be smaller.
I booted it into the official fw just to see if it was working ok. Then I read Bob's instructions and flashed the finless rom on it.
All is working fine except the fact that it shows a different MAC every time it boots up. That is extremely annoyingalthough I think the official firmware was doing the same.
You see, soon my routers ARP table will be full and it may start misbehaving due to that. Also, for those that like to use dynamic IPs and then set permanent IP leases to some MAC addresses this will be a real bummer (which is also my case).
@Bob,
I am a complete ignorant but I have a small ARM plugcomputer running archlinux for arm that had the same issue. Then guy named Jeff Doozan (he has a forum http://forum.doozan.com/) found out that it was a problem with the uboot environment settings.
Do you think you could look into this issue? Thanks in advance.
Now a couple of questions:
- how can I put the prometheus to sleep? And later how can I wake it up with some kind of remote (wireless mouse, gyro, IR receiver, etc)?
- is there a way to make it run xbmc on every boot (and on every "wake up")? Maybe with initscripts? If so, could you please give details or a how to? Workaround by installing "startup manager". Thanks jgbyr.
- do you think that we should install Seeder since it is usually recommended on lower end android phones?
Thanks in advance.
- do you think you could add something to disable or shut off the annoying leds in the front-panel?

BOOTING DIRECTLY INTO XBMC FOR ANDROID
Step 1: Launch the “Google Play” or “Android Market” application.
Step 2: Search for the “Startup Manager” application, then install it.
Step 3: Run the application and cleanup your startup programs to speed up your device.
Step 4: Add “XBMC” from the “Customize” tab.
Step 5: Reboot your device.
Congratulations! Your device will now reboot directly into XBMC in the future. You can always get back to the main Android menu to either use other functions or reverse the direct reboot by quitting XBMC.
