Also news.... I flashed this ROM to my Arnova 10G2 and it boots. So I know the ROM is not a brick. Of course nothing works like the screen etc so I cant test further but we now have a stock ROM

Man guys... this thing appears to be heavily bloated! Also no Google Play is pre-installed.... Looks like the getjar market is there though. Lucky I have all the ICS files needed to enable Gplay from my rooted 9G2 ICS ROM.

So questions for you for my first custom ROM. Of course we need Randy to test

1) I will root it.
2) I will increase the size of system.img and do you want Google Play installed?
3) Do you want me to debloat it? If so since I cannot test, what apps should be removed? There looks to be a ton of junk and some APKs I do not recognize.

So what do you want for my first custom ROM?

For a release modded one debloat is good but for my messing i like pure stock then i make it exactly what i want.

I think i will need sleep soon but will mess with the split stock on my next7p once its uploaded.

To get into flash mode, power off the tablet, hold both volume buttons down then plug into usb.

On new hardware found, install Rockchip Batch Tool drivers.

Running the batch tool sees the device.

At first I was a bit disapointed that Google Play wasn't installed but then realised all the supporting google services must take a toll on performance and this thing performes quite well as it is. GetJar sort of sucks but .apk's are available via 4-shared anyways. Not having Google services might just be a great idea, IMO.

There are 25 free e-books - all public domain stuff that could be removed, ApkInstaller I don't think is required, I don't like Asto file manager but Rhythm Software's file manager is excellent including network support for accessing your PC's. The E-Book reader is uselfull, Explorer sucks, Fring can go, kobo can go, Nextbook FAQ and Guide are as usefull as their tech support :-), and Weather Forecast only supports US locations so it can go too.

What is the 7s? Remember I do not have a nextbook. I have only done roms for what people call the 7p (7 premium).

This ICS ROM will boot on my 10G2 but nothing works like the screen so I cannot test any farther.

It will probably boot on the older Nextbook 7 premimums 1211, 1011, 0911, and 0811 but what works and what doesnt? No clue....

I don't see why not. Well, except for the fact that there is no factory supplied recovery rom in case it bricks ;-) but I'm game.

The nextbook 7s is a new tablet biglots just got last week with android 4.0,this thing kinda sucks cause its not rooted and it doesnt have market,thats why i asked if your rom would work since its for a nextbook 7se,i dont think there that far off in hardware specs!!!

Ill give it a go on my GB sporting next7p once its not giving "File does not exist please contact the systems administrator" great work tho on getting the images out of that corrupted backup image.

I hope that the hardware is more supported on the old next7p than it wason your arnova lol

I have a 7S (resistive screen model) that I can now talk to through ADB. I can issue root commands and can change folders to r/w, but can't make 'em stay that way yet.

Here's something I found out there, but I think it's buggy. No go when I tried to execute this series of commands.

Maybe one of the experts can make heads or tails of it. I'm not after the world, just root...

Sorry about the ROM download guys. Noit sure what happened. My ZIP file is not corrupt so somehting happened on upload. It's uploading again now. I'll let you know when it is done.

N4RPS, you cannot permanently root with ADB. Every time you reboot, boot system reloads init.rc and changes everything to what init.rc says. So to get a permanent RW for file system you must edit boot.img. Thats why we make ROMs

However if you can get a dump from that, we can make you a stock ROM and a rooted ROM.
Since the screen is resistive I am sure a capacitive ROM will probably boot but the screen for sure will not work.
I assume the 7P12 SE is capacitive screen?
