    Re: Pipo M6 Max RileyROM 1.9

    Installed 1.9 and the 4.1 kernel. Tab runs fine. So far no problem. But wlan range and throughput is terrible.

    Cheers

      Using 4.1 here too... am i assuming this kernel doesnt have the lower voltages? Runs antutu reasonably well... yet to try v4 as i know some report higher antutu with lower clocks.

      Re the wifi, one thing I have noticed is that on reboot the wifi is off (this didn't happen before), and any file transfers via a windows machine over wifi can be painfully slow. I say can, because I was having issues, rebooted and then turned wifi back on and I seemed to get some nice speed.. (I say nice - around 1mb/sec - it normally sits between 700-800kb/sec)

      Internet via wifi is quickish tho.. so I wonder if there is some issue with whatever mechanism (ie samba) its using to connect to windows machines.. is this something that can be addressed by someone with thte knowhow?

        complete procedure

        Dear all,

        I have never rooted my pipo m6 max (no 3G) before, but I really would like to.
        I read many diff ways how to root it, and flash it, but I would really much appreciate if somebody could give me a quick guide from scratch.

        I am happy to flash the new 1.9 with 4.0 kernel

        thanks a lot in advance for your time!

        best wishes,
        Richard

          Hi Richard,

          the RileyROM 1.9 is already rooted. Nothing to do anymore in this direction after yout flashed the ROM itself.

          By the way:
          I have same spare time and flashed RileyROM 1.9 without any issues till now. I used my kernel 4.1 and all is running well and fast.
          The only thing I have to do was renaming /system/lib/libril-rk29-dataonly.so to libril-rk29-dataonly.so.old again to be able to enter deep sleep. But thats nothing new anymore.

          @rrileypm: Well done!

            as I mentioned I am a newbie on this field
            so please tell me step by step

            thanks

              Thats pretty easy. Please read the First Time User Guide_pr0_rev5.pdf from the ROM-zip first!
              Then you download and extract e.g. RileyROM1.9-kernel-cpu1704_gpu660_ddr720_v4.img.zip.

              Run the ROM_Flash_Tool_137.exe and exchange the original kernel with the overclocked one. Then flash the ROM like written in the user guide.

              Here is a picture where to choose another kernel:

                replacement part

                Hi.... I accidentally manage to crack the shell glass (not the lcd) on the housing. I've been googling online for a while and I can't manage to find a replacement housing/shell for my m6. Anyone know where I can purchase a new housing for my device.

                    thanks, all done, was easy!
                    testing now, but feels quicker already....
                    Minion Rush runs much smoother

                      Yeah I agree it def feels quicker then the 1.7 although The Antutu score is slightly less. One of the main big differences ive noticed is the amount of free memory and how quick apps install from the market.

                        Installed 1.9 and kernel 4.1 everything runs great. Excellent job guys.
                        The only problem system folder is read only, so i canot edit buildprop.
                        Any idea why?

                        Thanks.

                          Do we have any info on voltages with the v4.1 kernel? Just wondering if they were low voltage?

                            Thats strange..... though its fully rooted... maybe you've didn't enable root permission on your editor..

                              solved

                              I did enabel it actually .
                              But solution was to use tottal commander instead ES fileu manger …(which worked fine before) TC offered to mount it as RW and saved it sucsessfuly :-)

                              Thank you

                                phjanderson's script print the freq/volt tables at startup, so here is the tables :

                                == Table 6 CPU ==
                                MHz mV
                                312 900
                                504 925
                                816 1000
                                1008 1075
                                1200 1200
                                1416 1250
                                1704 1375

                                == Table GPU ==
                                MHz mV
                                133 975
                                200 1025
                                266 1025
                                400 1100
                                600 1250
                                660 1250

                                == Table 8 DDR ==
                                MHz mV
                                800 1250 1 DDR_FREQ_NORMAL

                                So, no it's not low CPU voltage but stock voltage.

                                Here are very low voltage kernel only for "lucky hardware" like mine !
