hi everybody, I have a little problem...

I have a wifi issue, I was using the 1.6 rom when suddenly my connection started being really poor, tried flashing the 1.7, nothing. Ima try flashing the 1.8 but I'm starting to think that the external antenna is the problem. as far as I know the x7 has an internal wifi chip (I don't know if that's the right term) and an external antenna if the external antenna wasn't not working it would explain the poor connection because the x7 would only be working wit the internal chip. That's just my guess... Let me know if theres anything I can do. If I'm right maybe I can replace the antenna with a new one or a wirless usb adaptor, If so it would be helpfull if you told me where I could find one.

Ejecting External Hard Drive (USBMassStorage)

How do you guys remove external hard drives ? I have a MK908V1 running Finless 1.6a with a hard drive connected via a powered USB hub to the USB port of the MK; there is no option to unmount this drive and when I plug out the drive all my notifications disappear from the system bar and re-appear when I re-connect the drive.

Is it any different if I connect to the OTG port ? (the 'connect to PC' setting is OFF). How do you guys use hard drives with the X7, is it better ?

I just installed this rom and I like it. The video is really smooth.
My only problem so far is that the home screen is not smooth at all while the menus are quite fast.....I think it's a bug somewhere because it's only on the home screen.

your first post where you can download the new 1.8 rom shows 1.7
can you change it, because people are getting confused if this is the new rom.
check the lline of text above the download link to the new 1.8 rom.


and bob I still use the kernel of 1.7 in justXBMC rom.
are there any big updates in the 1.8 kernel that makes it worth flashing the new 1.8 kernel?

Looking good Bob The 1.7 was no use to me so i switched back to 1.6
Just flashed 1.8 and looking good so far the video's that i could not play anymore because of out of sync and stutter problems with 1.7 are playing again so thanx man for your great work

I wil test this weekend the stability

the rom is very good...

i have two problems:

1) home screen is not smooth, and only home screen ( same problem with another one )
2) my rc11 air keyboard is too slow. i didn't have problem with stock 005, 006, 007c or your's previous roms. in xbmc the problem is bigger.

Bob what is the difference between system.img of 1.7 and 1.8. I am asking that because if there no significant differences then we can flash only kernel and boot keeping our apps and data. Please answer that.

Hi Bob,

Your rom 1.8 is very nice, this is my second time installing a rom on my neo x7. I am new to flashing roms on this unit. I am having problems install YouTube and Google Chrome on my unit. I receive a message could not be downloaded due to an error.(491). I did a nano back up and clean install there was 2 changes I made one is the kernel1080_cpu1800h_gpustock600_ddr720 and the other was boot1080air. Would this cause me to receive this error message?

I power down the unit and restarted it now my apps are downloading.
