The new one looks like they deleted the video out port and added a small camera so I guess it depends on which feature is more important to you. I like the video out myself but some could care less and might like a camera better. It seems they are selling all versions till the early ones sell out so you can maybe take your pick if they have all versions in stock at your store.
Kinda hoping they keep adding better features for around the same price point as I'm using my 701i with video out a lot just to pre check my e mails and play games and look things up without wandering in here and firing up the beast.

Sounds like you MAY NOT have ADB Windows drivers loaded for the tablet. That can be tricky to pull off sometimes, especially on Windows 7 64-bit machines.
I picked up a 702c or two, but haven't had time to install the Google apps yet. If you haven't figured it out for yourself soon, I'll give it a shot, and post how I did it...

I finally had enough trying to get an old version of Google Market uninstalled, so i reflashed the tablet with Livesuite ver 1.07 (downloaded PMID702C_Firmware_4.0.zip from southerntelecom.com). It wasn't a COMPLETELY smooth process, but it did remove the old market installation i had that wouldn't work.
I then reinstalled it from the gapps-2.3.4.zip file downloaded from this forum, and that installed Market fine, but its the old version of Market. I thought it would upgrade automatically to Google Play, but it hasn't. I downloaded Android_Market_v3.2.0.apk, and tried to install that but I got the msg I was getting before:
"Application not installed - an existing package by the same name with a conflicting signature is already installed"
I set the permissions on it in root explorer as explained elsewhere in this thread first, so I am still at a loss figuring out how to get upgraded to Google Play.

Secondly, have you tried installing LiquidLimez's market fix from this thread? I think I've read from others on here that it works fine on the 702C. That will give you the updated market and will also unlock many more apps in the market for your tablet.
Since you have experience flashing firmware I'd go ahead and give it a go. Worse case scenario is probably just that it doesn't work and you have to reflash the stock firmware again.
I'd do a format and flash of the stock firmware and then install the LiquidLimez market fix...but that's just my .02

Seems to break calendar function
I've installed a couple of times now, once setting up the google account before installing the market app and once after installing the market. Both times were on clean flashes of the factory rom.
The issue is that the calendar now fails to sync. Going into "Settings > Accounts & sync" it displays the message "sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly". The calendar sync worked fine before installing market, and is still working fine on my phone.
I have the PMID701i 13 unit.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
BTW..this thread should really be a sticky

I've had to go back to stock Polaroid rom to get the calendar to work again....
Anyone able to correct this in this "fix?"
