have uploaded them, quality is not that great, but i only had my cellphone (huawei Y-300 5mp camera) to take the pictures.

in see a realteak chip not sure if it's that from what i've read it should be a WAPI(Ralink8188)

antutu reports 1280x720 but i don't have a full hd tv so i had selected 1280x720 don't know if this has an impact

haven't been messing with the phoenixsuit stuff ... turned my measy box device in a server environment, hooked up an external hd and am running following servers on it:
        ssh (from android)
        ftp (from android)
        webcam (from android)
        webserver with php (from android)
am using this app (payed version) for it : https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...erversultimate

vnc (but it's slow since it's using screenshot method, when i acces /dev/graphics/fb0 i only get to see bootscreen :/ don't know why) amd using this payed app for it : https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...lite.vncserver (the framebuffer problem is probably related to the firmware i think)

i also installed linux deploy (https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ik.linuxdeploy) and debian wheezy with lxde is running straight from my android where a vnc server is running from the vnc connection here is fast and works great, i'm even amazed how well this runs on the device.

All my servers are remotly accesable and i have on my router NO-IP dns updater thingie running..

        I'm quite happy now

How to root device after 4.2.2 update?

          Hi all,
I've managed to upgrade the B4K device with the zeros + phoenixCard method.

Since built in camera realy sucks, nor working anymore.
Can anyone suggest how i can use external usb webcam?
Currently the built-in camera takes over all the time. How can i disable it?

Also, how can i root this device after the upgrade? Old method not working anymore.

I was using shutdown+restart app, but now none work. Does anyone knows how i can shutdown/restart this device without getting up from my chair?

          Thanks yeall.

you did use the B4K rom right and not the rom from the 1st post ??? cause i have no problems whatso ever with my camera, wifi everything still works, so that's why i'm askin which rom you had put on it .. (if you put that cs rom on it reflash it using the correct B4K ROM for the device https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...7%E7%BA%A7.zip )

about root i used this :
Store photos and docs online. Access them from any PC, Mac or phone. Create and work together on Word, Excel or PowerPoint documents.

it was for an onda device but works on my measy b4k roms without a problem.

about the camera, you'll probably need to find a program that lets you specify the device node like /dev/video1 or something, at least i think cam's show up as a video device.

you can check with busybox lsusb or something in that trend. If you can get the device to pick it up you can use it (given the modules are availble or built in the kernel) so better to use something generic

edit: about the shutdown apps, first get root, the original rom had root access and some of those apps require root so try after you had gotten root, chances are you previous program might work again (given you let it get root)

How to root? How to disable built-in camera so i can use my usb webcam?

              Hi,

              1. I have used original B4K ROM, which i got from Measy support and posted here.
              2. When i connect my webcam, it gets recognized but all apps use the built in camera instead.
I wish to disable the built in cam so it wont take over everytime.
I'm not linuxoid, so /dev/video1 doesnt say much to me...
              3. there are plenty of apps that require root to shutdown. But i don't know how to root 4.2.2
The onda root file worked for me with 4.1, but doesnt work anymore with 4.2.2

Basicaly i need instructions for noobs:
              How to root?
How to disable built-in camera so i can use my usb webcam?

Hmm i don't really understand how it's possible that it works with me but not with you, since i used the exact same rom as well as method to root. It's kinda weird that while we have same devices / installed same rom / used same root method that it works with me but not with you.

What does it say / what error ? how do you know it did not work ? (the root access) does it give you an error message or does it tell you it can't update when you select that zip file ? (you have to use the update program then local update and select the zip file from sd card)

about camera's can't really help, never tried it myselve, but the apps will never work if the usb device doesn't get recognized. If it does what about those apps that some kind of switch to front / back cam.

i have a few old webcams laying around could try it out once to see if i can get it working.

OK I'm trying to work out what to do to get working wifi from crossflashing CS818s firmware on Measy U4K

I understand that @ADD has done a lot of research already and there is only a single item that needs amending?

It seems that it'll take another while before elektrik comes with his modifcation. He got a faulty unit which he should send back for replacement. Meanwhile I'm going to try the new B4K 4.2 rom on my U4K one of these days. Will report back.

I've flashed the CS918S firmware on to the U4K and it seems there are three problems:

                        1. Lots of chinese crap apps!
                        2. Wireless not working
                        3. SD Card not recognising card inserted (FAT32 format)

But it you want to change it to true 1080p you can do it yourself.

Android uses frame buffer for video output. The frame buffer is initialised once upon the boot. The initialisation parameters are defined in the sys_config (script.bin) file which is stored in the bootloader. The default values are set to 720p. You just need to change the next parameter (from default 720p (5) to 1080p (10))

                                screen[0]_output_mode =10
                                and
                                screen[1]_output_mode =10

                                (used for tv/hdmi output, 0:480i 1:576i 2:480p 3:576p 4:720p50 5:720p60 6:1080i50 7:1080i60 8:1080p24 9:1080p50 10:1080p60 11: pal 14:ntsc)

Note that after the first boot the output will be downscaled to 720p. You will have to change it in android screen settings back to 1080p.
if the img file I uploaded last night works for U4K I'll re-edit to add this too.

I see that there is an Onda beta KitKat ROM

Would be nice to think that it was possible to port but I guess the kernel / boot loader will be too different
