New Kernel
OK
Tried both Kernels 720/1080p OC 800mhz /1.8Ghz . Makes no difference Wifi still flakey , OS is laggy and unresponsive . Am about to give up on this
For some reason the 720p Kernel is even worse perfomance . The download speed on this kernel is poor for whatever reason . It starts off ok at aound 9 mbps but then dies down to .01 Mbps
As mentioned earlier changing the router to 54 Mbps may help , but made no difference with the OC kernel

i Have determined why you would choose 720p However ( decrease Lag I suppose)
I
1080p playback is great for me, using xbmc and external 25gb mkvs using Archos video player and codecs.. 720p kernel does feel more responsive going through the android menus but that's it for my set up.
I run the 1080p 1.7ghz 720ddr 798gpu 24/7 for all playback I also have the stock 720p kernel I didn't change that one it was fast enough for 720p in xbmc

bricked???
Hello,
i flashed latest lewy ROM version 2.0 on my T-R42 B351 V1.1,
with the RKBatchTool
Now my device stays a long time on boot, then the system starts, but it is blocked:
i cannot send any command
air mouse is not working, nor the ir remote control
The problem is that my pc now does not more recognize my device: it tells 'unknown usb device'
So RKBathTool/RKAndroidTool does not find it,
also pressing the reset button.
How can i unbrick my device, in this situation?
When i press the reset button i can go to the recovery menu (4.2.01),
there are some options to update the device...
For example, i would like to update it choosing 'update from external storage' (sd-card)
I have the sd-card, but i have not a zip file that fits ...
can you help me?
what i have to do?
Thanks!

perhaps i found something that can help to build the update.zip by myself:
google `build your own update.zip` xda thread
and
download
generic cwm
if you try to install the generic cwm starting the update from recovery menu, the update starts,
but stops checking the device model...rk3066
perhaps its enought to modify the updater script where there is this check and rebuild the zip, signing it with the above tool

My K-R42 is Dead
Hello All,
I hope somebody can help me out here.I have a K-R42 and it was working fine with lewy's ROM, then suddenly it stopped working, not even the blue or red Led. so obviously it's an electric problem? or is it really? the power supply is working and provides the correct 2000 ma. is the mother board fried? or just a fuse that needs to be changed?
Thank you.

Finally!! Success
Finally 1080P running smooth in BeyondXBMC! I tried a different approach and tried flashing the ROM from this thread
I then tried various XBMC's from using JustXBMC and Gotham Beta 2 (using an advanced XML file) and still got jerky HD 1080p playback but better, then I tried an over clock kernel from the same link and applied the 1080p_cpu1.7_gpu798h_ddr800 over clock, installed BeyondXBMC without the advancedXML file and bingo, I got smooth 1080p playback and instant seeking back and forth without any syncing problems. I am pretty sure that the AC8350 board are Tr-42's and those are the firmwares that should be applied as I have been trying the Kr-42's with little to no success.
