Finally got round to updating the firmware on my XT-Q7-V10 2013-12-05

      WLAN: RTL8188EUS
      LAN: RTL8201F
      Bluetooth: Mediatek MT6622N

Stuck on the update_7_30 ROM (from the post linked below) which is dated 2014-07-30

and installed SPMC version 14.2 from the link below, then ran the config wizard

      Kodi 14.2 working fine.

Only 720, but that's grand on my 32" TV.

I was running Levy's firmware, but I got stuttering/black screens every now and again, which was annoying. They've now disappeared.

Wlan, Lan & Bluetooth all working.

I have just flashed my Q7 with this firmware http://www.droidsticks.co.uk/droidst...ware-download/ and seems to work fine haven't tried wireless or bluetooth don't use either so no problem for me if they don't work

Is pre rooted with some useful android apps installed, and kodi is reporting 1920x1080, Kodi 14.1 is installed and the droidsticks wizard is installed but apart from that is a vanilla install

Haven't used it yet, but overall pretty pleased so far

Hi, I have the q7 rk3188 tv box, everything was fine until last week when I started getting flashing pixels, that then went to horizontal lines across the screen pretty much all over until eventually the display goes totally blank completely. I've tried a new hdmi cable and on various TV's but it's still the same. I've noticed though if I reduce the resolution down to 576p it works ok but any higher and the lines return. Do you think a custom rom would solve the problem or is it faulty hardware? Thanks.

Hello. I want to connect LTE modem Huawei e3372 to XT-Q7-V10. Faced with a problem. The modem is defined as cdc_ethernet port eth1.

ip link set eth0 down - disable built-in network card
ip link set eth1 up - lift modem interface
ip addr add 192.168.8.100/24 broadcast 192.168.8.255 dev eth1 - assign ip port on the modem
ip route add default via 192.168.8.1 - assign the default gateway

                ping-c 3 8.8.8.8 - poll a google IP
                Code:
                PING 8.8.8.8 (8.8.8.8) 56(84) bytes of data.

3 packets transmitted, 3 received, 0% packet loss, time 2002ms
                rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 102.901/154.068/235.363/58.123 ms
                ping-c 3 google.com poll Google.com
                Code:
                ping: unknown host google.com
The web interface of the modem is available, and no Internet.

                dhcpcd eth1
setprop net.dns1 192.168.8.1 (also tried ip Google 8.8.8.8)
                There is no result.

but the missing DNS setup is the problem (you set GW but not sure about the DNS via setprop because at eth everything is a little bit different because a smartphone don't know eth so I think you also have to handle it via something like ipconf or maybe you can "switch" eth0 and 1 so you can use the setup at android ???? (btw: you can check working DNS with "nslookup" maybe via busybox))...

                    Hi guys im new here and looking for some advice. I bought this box over a year ago and never updated or flashed any custom roms to it etc. I did a bit of googling and ended up here. Im looking to install a fresh rom ( preferable a custom rom ) but im not sure which rom to use if any as im not 100% sure if my box will be compatible. This is the info i could get from the box;

Got this from the site i bought it from :

Quad core rk3188 tv box Android 4.2.2 EKB311B Bluetooth built in
                    RK3188 28nm Cortex-A9 Quad core

Back of box sticker: multimedia box model q7

From system settings: Model number rk31sdk
                    Android version 4.2.2
                    Kernal version 3.0.36+
                    Build number rk30_android4.2.2 sdk v1.0
                    Vendor software rk3188_r-box_android4.2.2-sdk_v1.0.0_130514

Any advice or recommendations would be great thanks alot.

First you have to open the device and check which pcb version it use http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...s918-and-t-r42
But I think for the EKB311B (with bluetooth) there doesn't exists any custom rom...

Can any1 get a vpn to work on the the q7

                          Comment

I have the same q7 and shown in the picture of the OP. Quite some time a go I flashed the box's firmware to improve it's performance. wich it did. However, the firmware wasnt properly rooted and I have recently found new firmware that claims to be pre rooted and want to re-flash it. Here's where the issues start.

Holding the recovery button and powering the device on has no effect. the device wont boot and so I cannot enter recovery mode.

I have usb debug enabled as well as connect to computer option. However after plugging the device into the otg port and having 86x and 64x rk drivers installed my computer doesn't discover the device turned on. I have also tried splicing together 2 male sides of usb leads. The device still isn't found by the system though it dose remain powered after i take out the power lead until i remove the usb.

Since the box is not properly rooted I cant use apps to force a reboot in recovery mode. and without my pc being able to find the device I can not issue commands via ADB.

The wireless no root ADB apps I have tried still need a wired connection first to work. IDK why and so that doesn't really help me.

Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated on how i can get into recovery mode or root the device without needing to tether to a PC.

About Device gives the following information:-

                            Model number: rk31sdk
                            Android Version: 4.2.2
                            Kernal Version: 3.0.36+ guogl@xintu #2 Date Thur Feb 27 14:08:52 CST 2014
                            Build number: RK30_ANDROID4.2.2-SDK-V1.00.00
                            Vendor Software version: rk3188_r-BOX_ANDROID4.2.2-SDK_V1.0.0_130514
