I want my box to boot right to XBMC, so I am using SPMC which can be used as a launcher and works pretty well. The problem is the navbar, so I had to remove it completely by renaming the systemUI apk. With a kitkat rom this would not be needed because it has something called "Full-screen Immersive mode".
fullscreen! does not work well because it was to be started before XBMC and in this case it is starting after.
Also, lewys rom is capped at 1.4ghz and the remote mouse does not work like in the stock one.

Hey guys ! I am a "proud" owner of this q7 box and i have a problem with it. No matter what Rom i use, stock, custom, when i watch online tv series, movies , the image is framing for a second once in a while, and it's noticeable and quite disturbing . I tried every rom with different resolution combination but with no luck. Do you have any idea what can i do ? Could it be from the power supply , i mean should i buy a bigger one ? i really don't know what else to do . Thank you

Have you tried installing the latest official rom (update_7_30)? http://pan.baidu.com/s/1sjFc2iL

Well it sounds if you have a bandwith problem.

Can you give us information about

            File type, data rate, solution

Which media app do you use.

We need to get known to the real problem first until we can help you

I doubt it's a bandwith problem xD my internet is very fast. So, i'm trying to watch tv series online by using a browser. At first i thought it was the browser, so i installed opera, firefox, dolphin, chrome, puffin, i even tried the stock internet, no luck. I tried a lot of websites that have online episodes , it's the same everywhere. I'm starting to think it's a hardware problem since none of the roms helped this poor little box.

                CPU Bandwith..

                But np.

And we found the problem. YOu try to watch browser based video streams (nearly all use flash). Flash is a piece of crap which needs vast amounts of cpu power. So well. Try special optimized streaming apps from your sources and not the web pages and i nearly guarantee u will have a working box.

Yeah i know flash is a piece of crap, at least for android, but i don't know what app to use in order to do that. The thing is, the box isn't mine , it's my father's , so he needs the episodes translated in a specific language and i don't really know an app that could do that.

You can TRY following: copy the stream link into vlc - it is able to play e.g. youtube videos - maybe it helps. But i wont give 5cent on a bet on this.

                        Any sugestion about that?

Hi , Like alot of other people I have been having problems with the Q7 and older TVS flickering, this as I understand is a problem with the rom not being backward compatible with older HDMI versions, I have found a round about way to fix it with a few extra things

Your TV should have a vga port for this to work most old tvs have, I got this of ****

                        http://cgi.****.co.uk/ws/****ISAPI.d...m=111455145333

                        It is full 1080

connected it up and no more flickering! it has a mini hdmi adaptor and audio out which can be hooked up to your tv or speaker set up, hope this helps. I also tried the q7s firmware it seems really good full HD playback on XBMC working flawlessly, its still clocked at 1.4 but everything works

whenever I switch the inputs from hdmi 3 (q7) to hdmi 1 (my satellite box) then back from hdmi 1 to hdmi 3 my tv loses signal even though my q7 is on it says that there is nothing there so everytime I have to turn off the q7 then back on. is it an issue in the settings? screen is always awake option is on, and no daydream either and screen lock is off too.

I have an quite similar issue. The HDMI of rockchip isnt very good. You can try another Rom (just have a look at my Signature) but i dont think that it ll help much..
I fixed this using remotedroid - whenever it goes Too dark screen i connect To it and press the home button on my Smartphone used AS a remote via remotedroid.

Is there any instructions how to short between pins 8 and 9 ?
And will the firmware for the XT-Q7-V10 work with the XT-Q7-V11?

                              Thanks in advance

The ROM I tried is from the original post in that thread. The filename is EKB311B(CS918) Android 4.4 固件-07.10.zip

It comes with XMBC 13.0 pre-installed and is streaming 720p and 1080p without any micro-stuttering. This ROM allows for changing to 1080p and seems to be outputting true 1080p from what my TV says. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'll be testing this more thoroughly over the next few days but it looks like this would make an excellent starting point for a new custom ROM for the Q7. Up until this point I have been running lewy20041's ROM. If this ROM works well for me I may consider switching my other Q7's over to it.
