I hope droidmote works, because the remote is very limited! Anyone else tried it on this box?

When you check it, can u please tell me the mobile that you used as a client? I have tried 2 mobiles and 1 tablet, I can see either the mouse pointer, or the touchmouse red circle, or the game touchpad on the screen (with a small hand at the touch actions), but nothing happens (no response from the game).

The mouse works OK on the droidmote server, but I am interested on the gamepad.

        Thanks again.

Try to use RkRemoteControl (it may be installed on "client"/"remotecontrol" mobile/smartphone/tablet), the server (EHome) was already installed and running on the stock mk918. (need to connected to one WiFi network (router, or access point) both side - server and client).

Yep mine had that sticker aswel. I removed it looked tacky lol.

The RC is horrid. I brought a 2.4ghz wireless air mouse off **** for £11 delivered works great but do lose a USB slot for the wireless dongle. http://m.****.co.uk/itm/190865168530?nav=SEARCH

I PM Neomode roughly 2 weeks ago about a custom firmware for this device. He said he has one for a project so maybe we'll get something in the near future

Yes but with air mouse you cannot play games that need touch control, like dead trigger 2. In fact by only having a mouse/keyboard you cannot even press the START/PLAY button on this game, which in fact should be 'touched'.

Can you verify that you can play touchgames (like dead trigger 2?)

                Thankx

FOr the latest experiments, which were carried out by two girls ... I turned off the wifi ... and all switched to cable ...It's Easy and I live in the house and not flat ... I reduced microwave radiation to a minimum ... Unfortunately Mk918 is not very fast on the cable, and it is probably that because controller on the board...another small disappointment...
By the experiment on google write -wifi radiation- ... that's enough ...

My Ethernet is slow aswel. I have a 30mb connection and getting nothing close on wired connection so I use WiFi. I was thinking about buying a USB Ethernet adapter and connect that to my box and use that for a wired connection.

Hi, I downloaded and tried to play dead trigger.. I could move the Mouse pointer but couldn't find the enter/action button.

I downloaded the rkremotecontrol from http://www.timingpower.com/rkremote-1 my tablet discovers the tv box, it connects, and as soon as I move my finder on my tablet, the tvbox reboots.

I even did a factory reset on the tvbox but it stills reboot.

Thus,my only solution is droimote server, which unfortunattely it does not operate correct even after a factory reset.

Remote issues solved? Buy an AirMouse... BUT bigger problems exist - advice please!

ok, and today I tried the LANmote app, which runs through a web browser. Also could not do the "touch" action and swiping was really unreliable. I think I will order an AirMouse.

BUT I have bigger problems and would welcome any comments:
(1a) audio is out of sync in all my mp4 vids played in XBMC
(1b) video quality is low and it all seems very dark. am using a HDMI connection, not brightness options visible in XBMC...
                          (2) BBC iPlayer app is awful on android, the XBMC add-on is much better

Both are key requirements for me, my kids and my wife and I am getting complaints that you need to jump between apps to do stuff. We currently play videos using MX Player, which performs very well but its GUI is not usable with the crappy remote that came with the machine.

Can you program android to respond to a different IR remote? We have a good one from the old WDTV box and it would be good to reuse it.

Has anyone tried XBMC Gotham on this box? It came with 12.2, I installed 12.3 and saw no improvement.

hi, For your audio sync problem, start a video in xbmc, when its playing press the okay button on RC so the play controls show on the screen, navigate across to the audio symbol and hit select.
the third setting down should be Audio Offset, click okay then adjust so it is in sync (mine is set to Ahead by: 0.150s) once you've found the correct setting click okay once more then scroll to the bottom and hit okay on " set as default for all videos

My contrast/brightness is okay, i did adjust via TV remote though.

I am using XBMC - SPMC 12.4 (december 15 2013) Hardware Acceleration works through XBMC and playback is great. Give it a go

here is the latest version: APK file so download on your device or transfer and install. http://filez.semperpax.com/wuhl4

Do you guys think any of these Hybrid Roms for RK3188 with AP6210 wifi/bluetooth by Neomode & Finless would work on this box? the CPU/Wifi/BT etc are the same?
The custom Roms have better features than this stock fw & 1080p native in XBMC and an Overclocked kernel so maybe we can get these boxes to 1.6GHZ+ would be great.

I am reasonably happy with performance of this Tv Box, but this firmware doesn't perform as good as the Wasser Rom i was using, Wifi performance, Desktop size and font, Storage and Google play store tweaks was nice and the removal of unwanted bloatware apps was cool also.

I don't really want to wipe my box and start again only to find out the firmwares don't work lol. I have my XBMC all setup nicely with my addons etc, hard work to set it all back up again.
It's a shame you can't flash these Roms via CWM Recovery like mobiles so we can save backups/and setting when changing Roms.

If you go to XBMC and install the add-on from XBMC.org repository called XBMC Backup, you can save all your settings, library data and add-ons to an external drive. Makes it easy to restore from a previously working setup. Works well for me so far.

Oh, and thanks for the SBMC link - an OUYA was on my shopping list until I saw this box. I had seen good reviews on playback, so will give it a go.
