RKM MK902 - Neomode Custom Rom Version 1.0

To the users of this rom, is it better than the first one neo posted? I have that one setup but seems to hang here and there. The 1.9a rom an 802 device I tired seemed better but has not optical audio or camera. Just trying to see if this one is better. Either way thanks for your work neo, way farther/better off than we were before!

With this one I feel I have to use the kernel1666 to get it to perform similarly to on the 1.9 ROM, and downloading things (like from play store) is slower. The tradeoff is that it seems to be much more stable on my device. I was able to install all my apps and a few games like asphalt8 with data, which on stock would result in a series of reboots and on the 1.9a rom would result in apps refusing to open until rebooted.

If you just want to try this one, you can use http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...ew-RK-2-1-tool to make a full backup of your current ROM first and then restore it if you don't like this one.

Does work on the mk802IV T cpu but its limited to 312mhz- 1.2ghz regardless of kernel.

So, i tried it on my mk802iv, it works fine but, i could't oc the ram, whatever kernel i tried i was getting 445 ram speed in dmesg. The cpu was at 1800mhz with 312 and 1200 scale, and the gpu as always locked at 446. I am getting dissapointed from rikomagic, espesially with the gpu problem. Neomode, can you do something with this gpu thing, or i must forget it?
So im back to 2.1 beta, the best fit for my stick except the ******* gpu of course!
Any news for non-beta release?

Let me ask why is OC of the GPU tho imported for you ? In the MK902 Rom I have overclock the GPU. But also important is overclock the Ram.
I think it it's better to oc the Ram because the GPU use also the Ram.

It's important for me, i think, because i can't have it!!
This is life! We always try for the best, no matter if we can't reach the goal. That's the point i think.
And the other reason, is that i cannot understand why gpu oc is impossible for my stick.

I just want to say thank you for this great rom. My MK902 have a problem with random restarts, anyways I have been using I for over a month with your 1.9a ROM and the kernel from CRS11 and I had no issues with random reboots.

I installed this rom you have for the MK902 and been using it for the past 4 hours without any problem. The Wi-Fi works, camera wok, Bluetooth works. It looks great thank you.

The only issues I could find are

1. Video playback it’s a bit choppy. Is the kernel patched with the RK3188 vsynk fix?
2. I tried to play a 1080p movie on the XBMC version included and it’s very slow, I don’t think the hardware acceleration works at all.

its working fine on my mk809III, videos were choppy but i vsyn the kernel, and now its smooth.

if you want i could attach the vsyn kernel i did on here if you cant do it yourself

So, I saw the dvfstree in dmesg and I discovered something more, at my mk802iv I can't even oc the ram, it's stuck at 450mhz!
Neomode please help before I break this damn thing. You have the same stick, can't you test it?

I just wanted to add my experience with this rom as it differs from you. I am using the new Beyond XBMC beta 3.3 and it looks like hw accl is working for me. 1080p with dts 5.1 going out optical port to my a/v receiver and let me tell you, best android/xbmc experience for me to date! Only issue i could find with 1080p playback is trying to stream them over wifi. I switched to lan and all is well. Or usb fixed this too. The wifi on these little boxes just arent very robust I guess.

Will this box work properly with a NAS? I am connecting the box via UTP on not WIFI, i want to know if someone has this working please.

Build in are the modules for cifs nfs and ntfs support.

To mount nfs use cifs manager from play store.

No luck here with xbmc. I tried the latest nighty xbmc, I tried Beyond XBMC beta 3.3 and the SPMC that came preinstalled and the same result, very sluggish. Playing the videos with MX Player its smooth. I tried the Flash it app and spoof as nexus 7 and now xbmc is a bit better but still skipping allot of frames.


With the 1.9a Firmware and the kernel from CRS11 was playing fine.


Are you using a overclocked firmware?
