Strange... my stock firmware and RR2.3_RR2.4 can dectect sattlelite slower than KK_2.7

summary my Pipo_3G... KK2.7 is can detect sattlelite fastest

Meanwhile... the rest of the Rom seems to be working fine, and speedy, with near 22 000 points in Antutu.

My Pipo M7 Pro now with KitKat RileyRom 2.7 and is good, seems smother and faster, running well.

GPS may be a bit weaker but finds fix outside OK, had wifi dropout (may be weaker as well), play & browsers report "not connected" when is but no big problem, well pleased to have KitKat working.

Wifi drop

For the wifi drop, I just found out that changing the router setting to (b+g) seems to do the job. no more dropping for me at least.

My Pipo M7 Pro now with KitKat RileyRom 2.7 and is good, seems smother and faster, running well.

now.. pipo_m7_3g of me back to use RR2.4
because 3G signal is very weak
data tranfer is 😞 (<500kbps download in bangkok thailand)
but RR2.4 is better (>3Mbps in same place, and same condition)

summary from my pipo m7 3g
kk is very smooth , great sound, great colour, LONG time standby
but 3g signal is weak T_T!

if 3g signal of RR2.7_KK has solve
i will back to use again

This ROM has a patch in the 3G driver to enhance battery life and deep sleep mode. I added this mainly for wifi only tablets for people who don't like to turn their tablets off when they aren't using it.

It will be a couple if days...but I'm considering making an alternate version of this ROM without the patch to see if it helps 3G functionality. Stay tuned for an update.

Check post #1 for an alternate version of this ROM with the stock 3G libril file.

I usually use a patched version of this file to improve deep sleep and improve battery drain on wifi devices, but it compromises 3G reception. If you don't really care about deep sleep, and want an improvement in your 3G signal, you can flash this ROM.

The ROM has all of the same other features as original 2.7.

I have tested this ROM on my wifi only tablet, so I know it functions properly...but since I don't have 3G, results may vary.

I've accidentally discovered a new ROM configuration while testing my new M9 Pro ROM on my M7 Pro.

I downloaded this new ROM from the Pipo BBS which was modded by a Chinese developer before I got a hold of it.

I'm using the newer ROM with the kernel from THIS ROM.

If you want to try it...its very smooth. Just look up and download the Pipo M9 Pro RileyROM 2.7 and paste the kernel from this ROM into the RileyROM folder of the M9 Pro ROM. Flash as per the usual instructions (no need to flash the loader)

If you like it as well as I do, as I get time I will make an new M7 Pro ROM with it.

I would have already done it, but I'm working a 12 hour shift in the Emergency Room and can't make a new ROM until Wednesday.
