I have eventually took the plunge and rooted my tablet with the new rom. The only problem I am having is with the 'sygic' app. Just can't get it to work! I wouldn't mind but i have paid for the maps etc. Anyone else got this app working on this new rom

Thanks Randy, The stock libril sorted my M9 Pro 3G. Full 3G signal & no more switching off.
Seems the link only refers to KitKat. The M8 Pro 3G is still running 4.2.2. Does this make a difference. I'm trying to improve my 3G on this tablet.

I'm using the same file on JB and KK. People have reported the patched version helps with deep sleep on wifi only tablets, but jeopardizes 3G signal on 3G equipped devices. To each his own.

I only own wifi only devices, since Chinese 3G tablets won't work in the US...so I have to take user's word for whether it works or not.

- No more power-off
- Much improved 3G signal

Also, GPS is working! So this ROM ticks all the boxes, definitely a keeper Thanks Randy, your work is much appreciated!

3G WIFI and overall Stability

Hi, What are the benchmarks for measuring signal strength? My WiFi seems stable. 3G is stable but sluggish. Good for emails. I am using Widget Network Signal Strength by Lakshman. 3G HSPA -91dBm, WIFI -140dBm.
Hmm tried swapping with M7P_libril-rk29-dataonly.so (renamed libril-rk29-dataonly.so) and get what appears to be a stronger 3G signal, but still reporting as HSPA -91dBm
Anybody care to explain the differences in libril-rk29-dataonly.so?

Overall I have a very reliable M9Pro3G compared to the JB Stock. Thanks Randy!

Since i replaced the file yesterday, no unattended shut down of the device and also no specific battery drain observed until now ... Great stuff 😁

Still working well for me even with the file modified. You could try to modify the gps.conf file in your case perhaps?

I think everybody have the same default chinese gps.conf file in the Rom. I am perhaps wrong, but it is not something you will find in the tablet but on internet directly. I found one for France/Belgium, where i live, don't know where to find one for the UK, but i guess that gps configuration for chinese smartphone or tablet should make it on google... It is a simple file, gps.conf that you have to push in /system/etc..
