Am just getting ready to try this ROM. Couple of questions/points:-

    1) In the "First Time User Guide Rev 8" with the download, in the section about flashing the ROM (page 10) it doesn't mention that you have to tick the loader line to ensure you are flashing the loader if you are going to KK for the first time. I know Randy has mentioned this A LOT as I believe it is very important, right? Just a point, you might want to add that info to the user guide with the download. I am planning to tick this (going from Finless 1.5 JB to this KK ROM), so hope I am doing the right thing!

    2) I am currently making a nandroid backup in CWM recovery mode, am I understanding right to think that if I want to go back to my current setup I can just restore this through the recovery mode and I will then be back exactly as I am not, so don't need to follow the instructions for flashing a JB ROM from being on a KK ROM?

Sorry for probably noob questions, but this is only my 2nd time at flashing a custome ROM, just want to minimise bricking risks!!

    Thanks all.

I am coming from Finless 1.5 and wish stayed there.
On Riley 2.6 i have as many people ,a tablet that shuts down after a while on stand by and has to boot up again. Many users suffering it.
Also big battery drain,in Finless battery life was great, 2 days for me and now on 2.6 not 1 day.
Im now on Kasty 4.4.2 witch is also based on M7 Pro for a couple off houres.
      See what it's worth.

Interesting feedback... I think you are the first person in this whole thread to mention these issues though? Everyone has been saying it is great! I am still going to try it. Worst case I can go back to Finless 1.5, which is definitely very good, I noticed my battery life much improved when I went to it.

So ,stay whith Finless and avoid that bootloader thicking thing and all the other issues, never change a winning team!!
I think KitKat will never runs like it should on A PiPo(without issues).
Pipo wont relaese KiKat, i think all the KitKat releases are based on a rom from a Russion developer.

I am pretty sure Randy has already said this is based on the beta KK release from PiPo (albeit for M7 or some other PiPo tablet), so I am not sure you are right. There was a Russian release of KK for the PiPo, but I don't think this is it. Maybe others can confirm.

Other than the Wi-Fi issue I am experiencing, I like this ROM. The Wi-Fi issue could easily not have anything to do with the ROM. I still need to flash another ROM or make further modifications to my tablet to verify the exact problem.

Thanks to the developer for making this ROM available.

Well, flash went very well, initial impressions are very good. Massive thanks to Randy and all at Freaktab for what looks like another excellent ROM.

Now to set it all up!!!

                Couple of initial questions:

                1) Have had this before, but can't remember how I fixed it - time setting when on "auto set as per location" mode is wrong. Have location switched on, any idea how I can prompt it to update to my proper location?

                2) Can you remove the Google search bar which is at the top of every home screen?

                3) Why are the "quickstart" icons at the bottom of the screen higher up?

Both these last 2 things make the usable homescreen space very short!

                  2) + 3) use another launcher like apex

                  Comment

I knew I would get that answer! I may well try Apex, but I was wondering if you could alter this on the stock launcher...

Anyway, I am so impressed so far with this ROM, it seems excellent.

Well done Randy, you are a legend, I am going to duly donate to show my appreciation for all you have done for my PiPo since I bought it 5 months or so ago!!

                      I concentrate on performance.

Not everyone likes visual tweaks....so I just leave the stock launcher alone.

Ok Thanks. I took the plunge and have GPS for the first time. My wifi is average, I might look into the mechanical fixes. I still experienced a blank screen (Display set to sleep in 10 mins of inactivity.) I still have difficulty getting a Back lit display after leaving the unit for an hour and often resort to press and hold the power button, which seems to force shut-down (I hear a small speaker click after a few seconds). Then normal boot after pressing the power button briefly again. Boot is MUCH faster than stock. So far so good, I'll comment later after I fill it with all my apps!

I am also having this issue that my tablet switch off if staying in stand by mode too much time, and some other persons also have that, check the previous feedback. This shut down seems to only happen in battery mode, if the charger is plugged in, obviously the tablet stays on. But it has nothing to do with the battery itself because if i switch on the tablet after having the issue, the battery level is ok.

                              The perfect M9Pro

                              FYI:
After reading all the 'complaints/comments' on RR 2.6, I began to wonder what's 'wrong' with my M9Pro.
It works PERFECT with RR 2.6b and I have not experienced any of the mentioned issues what-so-ever since I installed it. I truly mean none!
It is as fast as never before, all the old issues that I had with it, such as auto-restarts are gone. Wifi is great, GPS is as it should be and so on.

That makes me think that there may be some hardware changes/modifications between the production series. Mine is manufactured October 2013.

Same here, installed, everything works as it should, GPS, WIFI, etc.
Screen activites smooth as silk. No app issses, no browser issues
Boots and shuts down in 1/2 the time.
Does seem to suck the battery a bit more when im not using it. I have it shut off the WiFi when screen off and not charging, it can go about 4 days like that before a charge.
So much better than 4.2.2, no doubt. Have not had one crash.

One thing i have found is when you flash the new rom, DO NOT disconnect it from the PC when the PC says Done, wait until the tablet finishes its resets and reboots and only disconnect once the Tablet is all they way up.
Don't touch the power switch, nothing after the flash until its all the way up. Then disconnect. Do a proper reboot, let it come up and then add your settings and apps
