Strange problem here. After doing an update I cannot connect to a secure network.
Only to unsecure netwerk. I tried reflashing, I tried a factory Reset..


anyone have any idea?

Impossible to update to firmware v 1.1.1

Hi everybody,


The OTA update tries to install the firmware's version 1.1.1 (from 2014 08 15)
but if fails with a picture of an android robot lying on the ground with his belly up.

I did the following actions :
1) unroot -> the OTA update still fails
2) factory reset -> the OTA update still fails

The Android system recovery (e3) displays always this message :

Installing update…
Verifying current system…
« /system/build/prop » has unexpected contents.
Update.zip is not correct
Installation aborted
———

What else to do ? Could you give me some ideas ?

ps : I don’t have a PC to use Flash Tools

That sucks that it went wrong. I had mine with v1.10 rooted too. Received and installed ota to 1.11 yesterday and installed fine. Just in case others are wondering, I did lost my root.

Perhaps you can recover to a stock rom by enteri the chinese menu after boot? I read that riley managed to recover his tablet once that way. I have no clue what option you need to select. Enter it after switched tablet on by pressing power+vol down. Reset you way out of it by longpressing power+vol down if you get stuck. Try at own risk with trial and error.

Better get access to a pc with flashtools though.

Your solution was too complicated for me.
I found something that works :
- copy the file "build.prop" from the update.zip of v.1.1.1
- into the /system directory (thus this file replace the old one)

The firmware update goes on without the message of failure

I have installed this new recovery to root tablet but instead sp flash tool installation is correct, when i enter to the recovery, android stock recovery appears and nothing about CWM recovery appears. Then i can't flash update.zip to root tablet.

I have a biggg poblem with my tab.. i try the v1.1.0 and the v1.1.1 now i have the v2.0.
But when the tab ask for pin of sim card, appear an error "com.android.phone has stopped..." and only stop appear when i pull the sim card or turn in airplane mode...

I try factory reset and clear cache in recovery.

Any idea?

Have you already tryed without a sim card to dial *#06# to see if you have a valid imei? If no imei is shown, that's the problem. You should rewrite it with mtkdroid tools.

While I have made some good MTK ROM's thus far, this one is way different than the others...the files are in different configurations...but I'm getting the nerve to attempt a flash of my test ROM to see if it works with the newest version of the SP Flash Tool. Unless this test flash goes horribly wrong, be looking for a custom ROM for this tablet in the next couple of days. I just want to devote the required time to getting it right.

This might be the place to ask. Does this MTK6592 SoC for the Mini present more/different problems than the MTK8392 in the Cube Talk 9X?

I think I read the one in the Cube is actually designed for tablets vs. what the iFive Mini is using, being designed for phones.

I have the Cube on order, and 900sports looks to have done OK with that SoC in regards to rooting and a ROM.

I have mine for a 3 or 4 months and i do not have that problem.
