OK here we go. we are going to replace the TSCalibration.apk and make some file name changes.

PLEASE follow these instructions to the letter.

First go get ES FIle explorer and set it up with these settings:
a) go into "file setting" and turn on show hidden files. Back up one level.
b) scroll down and turn on up to root.
c) Scroll down and turn on root explorer
d) below that turn on mount system as RW

OK download this file:

Unzip it and put TSCalibration.apk on your SDcard.

Now lets go to work
1) In ES File explorer go to /system/app.
2) Rename wizard.apk to wizard.old
3) Rename TSCalibration.apk to TSCalibration.old
4) Copy the TSCalibration.apk from your SDcard into /system/app
5) Once it is copied, hold your finger on TSCalibration.apk until you get a pop up. In the pop up scroll down and select properites.
6) Click the change box to change permissions. Make sure all 9 boxes are checked and click OK.
7) Now this is important! We must wipe the system. Go into settings, privacy, and do a factory reset and erase all data (dont select erase your sdcard!)

Now the system will reboot clean. You should get the TSCalibration show up and not see the desktop or lockscreen on first boot. Calibrate your screen. When done it will go to the desktop! BUT.... the screen may still be screwed up. Either way, You must reboot now. See if you can power off normally. If not use the reset pin hole.

Then on reboot you will get the lock screen. You should be able to unlock with your finger as normal. Everything should work from that point.

Now what I do not know is what will happen on next reboot or power off? Your screen maybe hosed up again and you may not get TScalibration to show.
Sorry if that is the case. Again your are testing a fix I "think" will work. Let me know.
If your locked out and cannot calibrate anymore, you will have to reflash the ROM.

So far it worked!!! Turned off and no caliberation on second bootup! Ill continue to test and post anything

I was hoping this would fix everything..... OK guys please continue testing. Even try a reset with the pin hole and see if it screws up calibration or not?

I remapped the vol. up button to its original and deleted the button remapping app. Then rebooted with shutdown and pinhole.....still works! Got vol. up again and screen still works!!WTG BOB On all caliberation never gets lost

You are a clever bugga Bob, bought my 10g2 in 2011 and installed your first custom firmware, but still found the thing boring, had it stuck on a shelf for the last few months hoping someone could release its potential.
Had a Google today and came across this thread and thought I'd give it a go. In a word 'fantastic'.
Will stick it downstairs now next to the iPad 3 and use it a little more.

OK all sounds great now

I will cook a final ROM soon when you guys have tested a little more. I can now get rid of the button mapping thing as well as nolock.apk

Seems like this issue on the resistive screen is FIXED!

Thank you guys for the testing. Trust me this will help when I do the other resistive screen tablets!

Bob,I know this has been a challenge, thank you for all your hard work and persistence whenever you feel like it I'd say this is about finalized and ready for the finished resistive rom. I am totally in love with this setup its what my tablet needed a touch of honey in the gingerbread: so far still no issues

Alrighty switched the callibrator when I got home have powered down normal and reset upon power up all is well in the land of oz. way to go Bob can ya cook a clear status bar in this bad boy that's all it needs.

Boy did i speak too soon shut off my tab took a shower cut it back on after wow total screen freakout do you think i should put the wizard and callibrator back like it was Bob or leave it be, its not tripped out on second boot.

I still havent had any issues with my screen? still works great after shutoff and pinhole reset. A couple times i had to wait a few seconds after i turned it on for touch to unlock but i think that was due to startup apps.

Tattman, I dont know man... I think you have some wierd hardware issue. Putting back the wizard wont help. In fact it wont work with the new TSCalibration. You might have to stay on the previous release with the volume up thing so you can calibrate every boot?

That fixed it. I loaded all my apps back. And reset five times. You the man!
