More than 16,000 post in minix... For my part all thing I need are working find and smooth. If people have problem why don't find your answer with minix, after all you spend your money there isn't... Team here had done big work, but still people want to go with kodi for example... and report addon won't work.... kodi problem but they seem to forget that. I own my T428 for more than a year and have to wait but finally everything working. Now I have to choose between firefly or zero Alice as upgrading not new firmware... Seem they invest in their devices like in a new car for 10 years... even your car won't upgrade. Thank to all teams that have work on those devices time to move...

My post wasn't talking about your post... it referenced tltester whom was complaining about waiting for an update etc... there certainly wasn't any trolling by anyone... I wouldn't mind being 40 again

The team had already posted that this update was going to take some time.... you don't need to explain further. Those of us that actually do understand there is a lot of work involved and that you won't know when you can get the issues you've identified resolved until they are gone... It is just what it is and the rest of us thank you for the time you have spent.

We work on many devices that's why development is slow. Also we've been expecting for minix to release the sdk, but this is not happening. The sdk we have is old and full of bugs. So, abdul_pt came up with a crazy idea, why not try to build cyanogenmod? And he (this guy is amazing) provided a base that boots and works but needs a lot of hacking. We are still on it and at the same time we are building Roms for other amlogic devices and for new rk3288.
When we will have something to release? I don't know, and i'm not even sure it will be cm or just another rom in the same line as 3.1
We work on both, the first to be finished will be the first to be released.
    Regards!
Thanks, it's great to know the project is still alive.
    Keep up the great work!

Well, my friend, that's the problem with people like you... Why ignore? Ignorance doesn't do any good to you, never, trust me. It's best to rather just listen to people, not ignoring them. What I say is that I've seen quite a lot of projects that promised updates / fixes but never were able to come with some and just died, while made people to wait for many many months and not trying to come with an alternative just because of promises they couldn't keep. I'm not saying it's going to happen or not, I'm just not counting on it anymore. As about the project itself - QS team did a fantastic job, my MINIX X7 is still on QS3.1 an I've also sent a little donation at the past to express my big thanks for this rom, I really wish it'll be continued. And the ETA thing is just not as impossible as you think, btw, it's just a matter of planing and ordering your work. I'm just leading a small R&D team at the last 6 months, and I've learned the hard way how hard it seems to give ETA when you've got a big project landing on your desk. But after analyzing the risks, doing some tech. design and breaking the project to small sub-tasks you can actually come out with quite exact estimation of required efforts. It's not simple but doable. Now it's not the same of course if it's about a free project you're doing at your spare time, but still, you can come out with some approximate estimations, be it with a weeks or a months resolution, but still, it's doable. And, IMO, I always prefer a sprints-like development way with a small iterative updates and bug-fixes rather then a huge long-term changes that tend to last longer and longer. Just my 2 cents

May be it's true and may be not, but you can't know for sure, because you can't ask for ETA. And so on... I've been in this scenario for way too much times, so I don't give a sh*t anymore and just wait. The current 3.1 rom is quite stable and the bugs are of survivable degree, can live with them. When I'll feel the time has come I'll just move on to something else. If we'll get 3.2 - well, that could be nice. If not - I'll live with that. Just my 2 cents
P.S. It could be nice to get some ETA anyway. Something like "It's not gonna happen in 2014 and I'm not sure it will in 2015" goes too

    Still using this great rom!

No crashes, no pain. All smooth

Few minor issues of course, like the 'enter' button not working, the popping sound when you press something and the crackling of the audio when cpu load is high on rare occasions.

Nothing to worry tho, great little device.

Wonder if Minix is going to do anything with Android TV 5.0 software..

    RE: Location settings

have apk's that require the location setting to be turned on.
When I go into settings it shows "mode" location off, and it doesn't do anything when I click it or long press it.

Anybody have a suggestion on how I can get the location setting turned on?

    heya everyone

been quite a while since ive had time to update my Minix x7. Im still on Bob's finless 1.8. which has been working for me. but i'd really like to update to 4.4. Few questions and a lil info about me. #1 i'm pretty familiar with android, recovery, root, flashing and the like. I remember using the Rk flashtool when i put 1.8 on my Minix. For the Life of me i can't get my Minix to go into flash mode and be recognized by my PC. i've double checked and triple checked my drivers are correct. and tried 3 or 4 different cables including the one that came with my MINIX. #2. I can however without much hassle enter RK recovery using twrp manager i have installed from play store. I have not installed twrp recovery. Im wondering. what steps are involved. and what risks do i run. using rk Recovery to flash this rom? The warning at the top of post about returning to 4.2 being tricky has me worried about doing this correctly the first time. So thats why im here asking.

Any and all info appreciated. TIA
