Not a QS3.1 problem I think. Clear the cache (not data) for xbmc and all should be good. Well at least that's what fixed the problem for me.
    Stay Classy

There have been a few updates to the XBMCz since this ROM was released and are recommended... but having said that, I prefer SPMC over that and it's now even available on the Play Store

If I'm correct, using the shutdown command on the nav bar could result in a "dirty shutdown" where running apps and/or services don't close properly. By using a third party app such as the Reboot app... that can be altered to ensure other apps/services are closed properly, they avoid having a dirty shutdown.

For now... since I'm not a dev, just consider that as speculation but it is based on info that I do know is correct for other devices/roms such as the Imito QX1 which just boot loops if the WiFi service isn't closed on shutdown/reboot

I'm wondering about a option for powering down the unit on a menu?? Am i missing it somewhere? I have to change remotes currently to do this.

From 4.2 to 4.4 a lot of things chaged in the video section, some apks works better, some of them not
I suggest you if you want to stay in KitKat try xbmc, smpc versions have the best result for me in rockchip and 4.4

Using QS 3.1 Rom (and I do want to keep using this rom) the video is not played smoothly using Archos, but using MX Player the video plays great.

I really want to use Archos as my media player but I can't watch a movie because video motion is like frame by frame.

Using Archos to launch MX Player is not an option because Subtitles are not loaded in MX when I launch the videos from Archos (it must be because the smb folder is not mounted, I don't really know). I tried to edit the file located in system/etc/ to auto mount smb shares, but I can't save the file after edited.

My workaround, so far, is to use the ES file browser to launch the movies, that way MX loads the subtitle (I don't like that option and I've had to go back to using the Apple TV 2/Infusion option )

How can I fix Archos media player with this rom, I really don't want to install the Xtreamer MC rom.

    Thanks in advance!

    Willy.

With most ROM's (as with this one) this can be overcome by flashing a 720p Kernel after flashing the ROM itself.

    Rom Installs

One frustrating thing i find with installing some Roms is the Setting are set to a 1080 tv. If you have a 720 tv trying to find your way through a mismatched resolution to video settings is brutal at best. The intial setup stage is terrible as you only get a flash of the screen.. Sometimes it can take over an hour to set video to 720

May I ask that one of you guys take those 2 files, and compile your kernel with them by any chance?

I would really, really, really appreciate!!! Beer would be on me next time for sure...

    thanks
