Here you go... my first real modded 10b G3 ROM. Features are:
1) TRUE EXT4 iles systems. These means system, Data, and Cache!
2) ClockWork Recovery mod tested and working!
PLEASE make sure your SDcard is in good shape before doing a backup!
The biggest reasons for failures of restores is due to a corrupt file system on the SDcard!
3) GPlay Installed
4) Increased /system space for rooted apps to 300MB
5) Increased user APP space to 2GB
6) Of course it is rooted with the latest CHainDD SU and SuperUser.apk


REMEMBER... this is a BETA TEST ROM.... You all are crash test dummies

install is ok google play works .
but im unsure of my idb.
since yesterday i have a total of 1024 insteed of 2048 and format 998 always now.
or are these numbers incorrect. like you sayt.
but always message erase ok. thats the importing thing i think. ???

Mine has done that too Snakekiller. But all is OK. Seems when the new loader 2.20 got installed ever since then it erases IDB differently. Not sure why. Again however, even with that it still works on my 10 G2 but like you see is only 1024 and counts to some number a little less.

Installed OK - it booted up after flash into CWM and did not reboot automatically. I pressed the power button and it then rebooted no problem.
So much faster than my old ROM and I like the boot animation!

Google play working but having the same problem as before where cannot install certain apps - Facebook for example is not visible. Couldn't resolve this before, even when I replaced the build.prop with the older version.
Searched for 'Chrome' in play store, notified that it isn't compatible with my device.

Used Titanium Backup and restored Chrome and Facebook apps. Facebook working no problem, Chrome displays some sites but not others....think it's a Chrome issue as Dolphin Browser works no problem at all.

I also didn't have to 'fix' the sd card issue to be able to write/read from the SD card, TB worked straight away! Thought you weren't going to 'fix' that Bob!!

I am researching the missing apps problem. I think I have it figured out

Seems many ICS tablets people are complaining of this. TUrns out I need some more XML files needed for GPlay.

Mr. Weelson, rather than make you flash a new ROM if you can replace and add some files and test, it would be helpful.

OK so I think this will fix the missing or compatible apps problem.


It is just some XML files.

So please use ES File epxlorer or root explorer. If using ES please make sure you have setup for root browsing AND mounted /system as RW. For some reason ES remounts system as RO on first run.

If your setup with ADB then use that if you like.

1) Unzip these XML files to your SDcard.
2) Using ES file explorer, etc, copy these 4 XML files to
/system/etc/permissions
3) Not this is important. Please set the permissions of these files to rwrwrw. In ES file explorer a long press on each file name, select properties, click the change permissions button. I think you can just check all 9 boxes and it should work. But if not, select all of them except the execute column.
4) Do this for all 4 files!!!
5) GO into manage apps, select Googple Play and clear the data / cache
6) Repeat #5 above but do it for the google services framework app.
7) Reboot
8) Launch play and let me know if this solves it.

I have flashed now, but can't get passed the calibration screen. No touch. I flashed back to the one I had before, no problem. What's up with that.

Another slight issue Bob - when connecting via USB I only get options to connect as 'Media Device' or 'Camera'. No mass storage option. USB Debugging is enabled.

Copied files in over LAN share and just rebooting now.

Rebooted and Google Play looks fine now, location services not working but I remember we had problems with that before!

if you disabled usb debug.
then on your pc too my computer comes arnova.
when you click on that you see internal and external sd card

Disabled USB Debugging and chose option of 'Media Device' lets me view internal and SD card storage.

Device is identified as a camera but no problem copying files over.

I did not touch anything to do with ADB or USB.

Remember this is the latest ROM DUMP (same as Kasty .42 dump we both got it from the same person) so things may have changed to what you were running before.

Remember we have 3 different versions of the 10b G3 ROM. I honestly do not know which is better? We do know that the dump I initially got and the dump from Kasty's original tablet have problems with some hardware and the screen not working! This 3rd most recent dump fixed the screen issues some were having.

BUT is it a better more stable ROM? WHO knows?
All I know is the kernel build and the Android build on this ROM have the most recent date from Arnova.


So did anyone test my XMLfiles yet to see if the missing app issue is fixed?
