Have to find a movie that has good sound effects for the rear.
Are you using a Decoder or some PC-AC-9x Speaker Set?
If its a Hardware Decoder does it not have a Test Button? That blows White Noise to each a Speaker in turn.
If so you may want to run it just to make sure that you have the Wiring set up correctly.?

BTW: You should also make sure to check the settings under XBMC / Kodi were also setup correctly. As its not "synched" at the MXLauncher, and make sure that Passthrough... AC-3, and DTS have all been checked too...

I may have already mentioned that Dolby Digital 5.1 was working. But that I haven't tested DTS out yet.
Well I just got done rippind a DTS DVD I had lying around and tested that. and DTS is working too!
As to other formats like TrueHD DTS-HD... I have no way to test them out.

Now, I too have some questions about the 109k4 Firmware though, and perhaps a Bug report to add...

    1) In the Update History that there was a "Fix" to get the Anutu Video Benchmark to work... (On the 1G/8G MXIII?!) Does not work on the 1G/8G MXIII. Google Play lists the MXIII as not being a supported Device.
What exactly was "Fixed" with that?

    2) That my LCD TV is getting on now ~10 Years Old now. I've set the Screen Saver MXLauncher Setting to launch after ~4 Minutes of inactivity. To try and, prevent any futher Screen burn-in. The "Bug" here is, when I'm using (i.e watching XBMC), this Screen Saver will cut in and crash the 109k4 Stock XBMC.

Old 1GB version not supported anymore?

      Hello,

I have tried to follow all the different custom and stock rom threads, but really this is the last version for the old 1GB model?

      M82_108k4_1gddr_rtl8188

      Thanks.

What are you talking about? The "current" Version for the 1G/8G MXIII is the 109k4. Which has the Drivers for the AP-6181 that the BeeLink 108k4 Firmwares otherwise lack. There wasn't a 110k4 Firmware made avalibe for the 1G/8G MXIII for the simple fact this Model lacks the Bluetooth Module which was the only change made in the 110k4 Firmware.

So on the off chance that you're correct... And BTW you're NOT... I'm calling [CITATION NEEDED]...

Oh, so the AP-6181 version also contains the drivers for the older box with rtl8188 network chip? If that is true I will upgrade my box ASAP! I am not looking for the BT fixed 110, I am fine with the 109, just on the official site 109 mention ap-6181 in the name, the older the rtl8188, no mention of multiple network card support.

          Thanks.

I think . The 108k4 is latest for the rt88## wifi ... while 109k4 is latest for ap6181

I wouldn't know... (Or sadly even care...),. My MXIII only has the AP-6181 Chip inside. So the 108k4 Firmwares are just about ONLY useable in the catastrophic event that I've mistaken an S82 Firmware... (INSTA-BRICK!), for an M82 Version. Though I can install, and use the Firmwares over at BeeLink. As you had pointed out they are ONLY for the RTL8188, and so would leave those with the newer... Cheaper?! AP-6181 Chips without a working Wi-Fi....

As to any future updates, be they for the RTL8188, or the AP-6181. My understanding is that they will be made available to all assuming that, its a massive enough update... (e.g. The amcodec libraries for example), or that the Update is required to actually fix a known Bug... As was the case with some Bluetooth Controllers in the 2G/8G versions that had them (i.e. The most recent 110k4 Update). AFAIK that was the ONLY update to the Firmware. Since I again only have the 1G/8G Non-Bluetooth'd Version of the MXIII it seemed to make some kind of sense at the time, when I asked about the availability of the 110k4 Firmware for the 1G/8G MXIII, and was told that it was an update that was only targeted to that specific class.

Besides I'm not even sure what the Difference between the 108k4, and the 109k4 even is. Outside of the embedded WiFi Drivers.

As to the shear lunacy of asking for Android Build 20 (a.k.a Android 5. a.k.a Lolipop), What in Gods Green Hell would that bring us? If anything I'm way more interested in a fully working AMLinux, or OpenELEC. To perhaps get some more USB Peripherals (e.g. USB DVB Tuners, DVD/Blueray, Bluetooth Dongels etc....) Working. Android is nice... But its mostly backround noise to whats really the Meat & Potatoes here. And that's XBMC / Kodi...

And as long as the Box... Does what its supposed to... i.e. Play my Media Files without giving myself an aneurysm. I for One don't need constant Updates to make me feel all special. When Said "Updates" have nothing new to offer me. Or you!...

so far I have experienced Netflix jerkiness playback although internet connection is good, and it has buffered. XBMC streaming is ok, but if you turn on live tv simple client, while loading channels can freeze preview window for the channels is offside also.

                anyone experience these issues?

now I want to downgrade back to 108k4 AP6181 1GB, but I can't find the file for that, all are for rtl8188 wifi module.

What is your experience with 109k4 and 110k4 ???
                1) According to Sources close to the Dev Team. Either here @ Freaktab, or perhaps it was mbox.co.za? The 110k4 Firmware WAS ONLY meant for 2G/8G Devices that had experienced poor, or downright broken 802.15 Bluetooth. Nothing else was changed in the 110k4 Firmware to warrant every other user to update.

                2) I'm not even sure what the Stock Firmware was anymore. I think, or at least seem to recall it being 108k4 at the time. Sadly trying to install TWRP, only to find that it did not work without a Mouse... After the fact!, and that it left me with a simi-bricked Blue-Light Dark Screen. Only to turn into an even greater brick Red-Light & Dark Screen. After falsely flashing a S82 Firmware. I was able to recover thankfully by installing the BeeLink 108k4 RTL8188 Firmware. Which left me without any WiFi... DUH!! I have the AP-6181 Chip inside!

I was able to find the 109k4 Firmware on this Site, that allowed me to finally get my WiFi going again. The only problem was... Or is, that I Absolutely had to install the 108k4 Firmware first, or else USB Burner (Amlogic's Firmware updater), would crash 'round the 2% mark. Sadly in some Chinese Gobbledygook that I couldn't even copypaste into Google Translate. It took me in essence, just about forever to "discover" that fix. Thankfully it payed off though. As to finding an original backup of the 108k4 w/a working AP-6181? I doubt it even exists.... Unless someone managed to make a backup of it before hand. Something I utterly failed to do....

So if you have the AP-6181 you should just use the 109k4 Firmware for now. Perhaps the 111k4 will bring the newer amcodec update that everyone will be able to use? Who knows. But, I'm sure as heck am not gonna bother even looking at that "Update" of yours. Knowing what I know, that being that the 110k4 was only meant to fix broken Bluetooh Adapters on some 2G/8G Devices. THAT IT... Thats all it does, there's no "conspiracy" to get us to move on.. They are still making the MXIII AFAIK! So why would they cut support for it?

Even then.... we still have AMLinux, and OpenELEC... If it ever came down to that. Which IMHO would be better then the stock Android anyway!

Could someone please post "cifs.ko" for this box/kernel/FW!
I'm trying to get MountManager (from Google Play) to work but cifs.ko seems to be missing for this device...
Or if anyone has another idea for mounting cifs/smb shares?
                  All help appreciated!

I could try looking for it if you know the Firmware that its supposed to be on.
but, to be honest I can't recall ever having come into any contact with *.ko Files ever under Android.
That doesn't mean that there not sneaking off somewhere. Just that I've never actually seen any.
Be that, on a MediaTek Phablet, a Samsung Phablet or even the MXIII for that matter.

Having more or less having gone though the Directory Structures though such things as:
                    ES File Explorer
                    Putty (Windows 7)
                    SFTP (Windows 7)

If anything I'd love to get my mits on a Bluetooth.ko file to see if I could ever get that retched USB Bluetooth Dongle to light up? Be that in or outta Android.

If an update 111k4 or whatever they name it - when a new update comes out, will it get posted here??

I regret updating to 109k4 or even 110k4, having had a good working original 108k4. I didn't see any difference except that now my Neflix is choppy and grainy. Yes the XBMC/Kodi is the meat and bones of the system, but I still like to use the Netflix for my little girl. Netflix, loads faster the videos and has a good kids selection.

Now I can’t bring back the original 108k4 because I have theAP6181 chip, for which Beelink has no support. Very disappointing!

Every product out in the marker should have support withoriginal firmware availability. This is dumb!

I can't say that I've ever tried it myself... But, how difficult would it be to install a SSH Server (Which you could easily find in the Play Store!), then use SFTP to just rip the current AP-6181 Drivers from the 109k4 Firmware, and use those to replace the stock RTL-8188 Drivers in the 108k4... Or Vise versa?

Another Thing you might try is downloading the Three File SD Card version on the 108k4 Firmware and extract that Versions Netflix apk File. Which might also fix your problem. Sadly I'm not a Netflix Customer just yet, and having discovered Show Box... It may well be an even longer time before I'll consider that Option.

Dropping support on a device they are still manufacturing and selling isn't going to happen.

111k is likely going to take longer since its mostly amlogic codec that needs fixing with some other more minor things.
That codec going to require quite a lot of work to get things running correctly so the next update going to take some more time then normal.
