It detect sound output automatically on my Beelink M8 device S82_114k4. It can swich between spdif and hdmi or AV. When I use amplituner it swich to spdif. When I use tv only it can swich to hdmi output only.

Check my sound test with spdif throughout.

Unfortunately I didn't test that much of it out... I think its quite safe to say NO, as its the same effect as wiping both the CACHE, and DATA, Partitions, afterwards where (at least on my older 720p (1080i), HD Ready Set if its set to "Auto Detect" it spits out a 576p eSD Signal instead of the native 720p One. So I kinda doubt its gonna push S-PDIF ever by default.

*I'd also just like to point out that I have the MXIII, M82 (1G/8G), and, not a S82 (2G/8G), compatible Device. So YMMV...
I can't say that the Auto Detect has ever worked for me, Audio or Video...

I notice that xbmc/kodi/spmc auto refresh rate no longer works at, it seems that this has been disabled in the ROM as I've tried using multiple versions of each app. Congratulations developers - that's one way to get rid of a bug by completely removing the actual feature.

I think it's time for me to put this box to bed - for me this is not a true media device if everything is locked to 60hz output or whatever you choose in the display settings. It's been a complete let down since I purchased it. The support has been atrocious. The future of the box has always been so vague.

It may have helped to be running lollipop seen as though there is native support for auto refresh rate switching. The chain fire app made for the Nexus player would have come in handy.

Again it may be just the 1G/8G Version that, in question here.... But, I'd have yet to spot the Stock ROM that wasn't locked to 1080p @ 60Hz.
I'd dare say the only Custom ROM that can manage to get that much correct, and to also render a proper 720p Frame without having to pinch it down to ~96%. Would be OpenELEC v5.0.6. Unfortunately I kinda starting to miss Retroarch. So I went back to playtest the old 109k4 Firmware, and was actually quite surprised by how well it actually preformed over these newer Firmwares. If its just a question of Kodi vs. XBMC... Well I can install the Stock version of Kodi (*.apk), just fine.

If I actually knew how to install Retoarch onto the OpenELEC Build(s)... I'd be back on that like stink on sh..! If only 'cause it seemed to support my Bluetooth Dongle. Kinda the bigger reason behind wanting to get Retroarch working on it. So I can eventually hopefully pair it up with my Dualshock 3 Controller. It seems that AD2P isn't quite possible. Mores the pity there... But, beaming Files (*.mp4's, *.jpg's) over Bluetooth have proven to have been quite successful under OpenELEC.

But, these last few Firmwares have really been a bad Joke. I can only "hope" that they'd still be considered as unofficial, and so why we haven't seen a *.zip (TF Flash File), yet. But, things that should have happened by now... Kodi, and Lollipop haven't paned out yet. Really I don't understand why they couldn't even simply compile us a KRT16S Build (i.e. Android 4.4.4. FYI!). I mean everything needed should be available to whomever.

And then there's the sticking point of where OMAN has gotten off too. I guess he's done run off the the next shiny, shiny now....

On the first FW I had, think it was 108 the auto detect did work from hdmi to spdif. But I did not have the hide button for the taskbar so I uppgraded (112k4 I Bellive). Then the autodetect sound stop working and bluetooth and the the cast dlna stop working.... I have the mxiii 2gb

From everything I've gathered (Reading this Board...), the Bluetooth was largely broken since 109k4 (Reportedly only on SOME Devices), Like they changed the Bluetooth Chip, like they did the Wi-Fi Chip on the 1G Version. i.e replacing the Realtek RTL8188 Chip with an AP-6181 thus breaking WiFi (for me...) if I try to install a 108k4 Firmware.

Supposedly 110k4 was meant to "Fix" this issue. Which apparently failed. and what versions 111k4, and 112k4 were meant to do? I have no idea.

I'm just kinda sitting her wondering if these latest 113k4, and now reportedly 114k4 Firmwares are even valid? Yeah I think most People here would expect the *.img File to drop first. But, have you ever wonderd why its been nearly a Month now, and a Three File MicroSD (*.zip) File for 112k4, has yet to show up here? It seems to me that 113k4 was just a quick fix for those that have a Mic on their USB Air Mice, (e.g. Disable USB-Audio output), and some corrections to some horribly misspelled Word(s) e.g. Dobly instead of Dolby. And that was that! This 114k4 reportedly only gives us an update to Kodi 14.1, and that's that....

One thing is to certain to me.. Any reported "improvement" upon the amcodec in these latest Firmwares has either not taken place yet. Or is at worst complete utter Bollocks! As I'm at least able to render... If not play... Poorly such Video Formats as WMV2 on my 1G Device on 109k4. Where as on the most recent OFFICIAL 112k4 Firmware. These "Segments" just remain utterly Black. Whats more odd is that these Formats get a Pass as "Normal" at the end.*

When I try to stream a HD Channel using my DVB-C to IP Device (via XBMC / Kodi Simple IPTV Protocol), It just works under 109k4, and OpenELEC. But utterly chokes, and lags almost to the point of crashing the entire Box on 110k4~114k4. The difference between say XBMC or, Kodi is of no consequence here. Just as it is on 109k4 where they both worked FLAWLESSLY! I dare say I've also seen a HUGE reduction in overall lag when streaming such Video from XBMC/Kodi as well.

I'm not sure what future this Box has outside of OpenELEC... Assuming it ever takes off enough for someone to figure out how One may get Retoarch installed on it per-say. But, I get the feeling that Lollipop may be a Bridge to far now.... If it took all this p!ssing, and moaning off of Sites like this, just to get them to toss out a Kodi 14.1 Release, and then call that "Release" 114k4.... Then I for One have pretty much lost any faith I may have had here. The only ray of Sunshine here, is that I still see these last few Updates as being unofficial, in the hopes that something more Official might soon turn up.

But, I'm not gonna waste my time holding my breath either...

Again, as they say YMMV... It seems that my suspicion that these (of late...) AiO Firmwares being unfairly skewed towards the 2G Devices, may not be that far off... In which case 113k4 / 114k4 may well offer you some improvement. Myself having the 1G Version of the Beelink - MXIII. Only the last 1G ONLY version (109k4), seems to genuinely work for me. IIRC 110k4 was meant to be a quick "Hotfix" for "Bluetooth Issues" (That as, far as I gathered.... Never paned out!), and 111k4 was the first so-called AiO Firmware. And, likely were these Firmwares started to take a nose dive.* **

*Again AFAIK the MXIII (Square), should not be the same thing as a Tronsmart (Puck?!) Given that the Tronsmart should be based on the S82, where as the MXIII is a M82. Though I suppose I've seen some 2G MXIII Boxes branded as M82's as well... So it may be a false assumption my part. That M = Mono (e.g. 1), and S = Stereo (e.g. 2)

** Besides your "Tronsmart" 114k4 is just as likely =/= the same Firmware as the MXIII One I installed on mine. That's why I the User kiziumiziu1981 to kindly share that version of the Firmware as well... Since the S82 Tronsmart Firmware would have very probably bricked my Device.

So again YMMV, if you find that 112k4 is the greatest thing since Sliced Bread, then I'd say... Try, and install TRWP Recovery (Which I gather should be simple enough since the S82 has had support since like FOREVER!), and then make the Jump directly to 114k4, since it a) Fixes the horrific spelling in 112k4, and has Kodi 14.1 in it. Unlike 113k4 which only has the corrected spelling of Dolby.

My "estimations" (such as they are....), ONLY REFLECT MY OPINIONS towards my 1G/8G MXIII Box. Again YMMV....

                          Hello have you tried this?:
                          • Auto-framerate switching for Amlogic
                            • (Needs 666 on /sys/class/display/mode)
On a side note, i have installed all STABLE VERSIONS of XBMC and now KODI, i have 14.2 installed now and also SPMC 13.4 but in BOTH if i enable amcodec hardware decoding and pause a video, the video freezes but sound is ok. I have to stop video and play it again. Has anyone ran into this issue? and is latest KODI 15 ALPHA good with amcodec enabled? the only reson i wouldn't use it is just for the skins . Trying to figure it out what works best with this box as i really don't want to put openelec on it.

                            Thanks in advance.

Personally I guess the answer to that is if you have a 1G, or a 2G (RAM) Device or not. Pretty much everything (for me!), sucks after 110k4, and I have the 1G Version. A few posts up someone else had mentioned that, they were having ways better results with the new(er) Firmwares. I can only conclude that the 1G Owners are therefore getting screwed over. Higher Numbers, do not always make for better Numbers.

Version 109k4, as well as OpenELEC 5.0.6. work very well with the amcodec enabled. where as <110k4 simply (For me!), does NOT! Constant, lag (Internet Streaming), Audio Lag on Live (Local) IPTV Steaming. I haven't actually saw fit to try and disable the amcodec on anything greater then <110k4. 'cause that would have been IMHO pointless.

So its a choice between OpenELEC, and its somewhat working Bluetooth... (note that the 1G DOES NOT have Bluetooth. I'm using a USB Dongle here), or the Stock 109k4 Firmware, with NO Bluetooth, but with all the creamy *.apk goodness!
Should OpenELEC mature enough to allow me to pair up my Headphones / External Speakers via AD2P... I'll jump back on OpenELEC SO HARD! ...If I haven't already jumped Ship for the Minix Neo x8-h Plus by then...

P.s. I seem to be able to change "mode" (/sys/class/display/) from -rw-rw-r-- (664), to -rw-rw-rw- (666), simply enough, but how can I make this survive a reboot?

I don't think that is possible the closest I'd guess to getting there would be to install it (The *.img File), though USB Burning Tool, and then use TWRP Nandroid Recovery to make a flashable backup *.img File, then install that using TWRP, which should have worked on S82 Devices since like FOREVER, or on the K200 (M82) e.g. 1G Devices... Since well over a Month now.

But, I know of no way to convert an *.img file into a Three File (*.zip). I guess it can't be done. The fact that it hasn't been done, yet makes me wonder if Versions 113k4, and eventually 114k4 were only for internal testing? If you were to spend just a fraction of your Time on Pan.Baidu... Assuming your Connection was good... Oddly for me here in Germany IT BLOWS! You'd soon figure out that a greater deal of these "Firmwares", you'd find there, are mostly highly customized Customer Builds. Which was certainly true of most Generic MediaTEK Phablets. Where (if you knew what it was your your basically looking for...), You could find like 10 different Versions of the same Firmware, on any given Day...

So forgive me if I don't quite accept Pan.Baidu as a reliable Source for reliable Firmwares...
I guess the best thing to do would be to try an message Mr. Oman (Where ever he's gone off to!), and ask him whats up?
if anyone can get you your Three File (*.zip) I suppose it would be him.

Consequently you could also lurk more on the Pan.Baidu Servers too... searching for stuff like "1xxk4.zip" Files, instead of 1xxk4.img Ones...

Ok screw it, borrowed a laptop, installed USB burning tool and tried to install 114K4 on this forsaken unit and it fails on 3% ...
I don't understand the Chinese error message and does anyone knows why this happens? Tried to upgrade from 112K4 via OTG port on laptop.
Could it be a succession thing ... Goto 113K4 ( which isn't really an upgrade) and then 114K4? If there is no real upgrade on the IMG file posted and no change log its save to assume I'm going to stick with 112K4 ...
