When I hold down the reset button my device just boots up to the grey google TV screen and then goes black, then back to google TV screen then black. I tried this with the TWRP flash on my SD card and this firmware, it just won't go into bootloader/recovery or whatever that method is supposed to put it into. It's an MXIII, any suggestions?

For me it would be Retroarch... Show me a way to get Retroarch onto an Amlinux Device... (Most everyone else on the Net seems to be concerned with only the RasPi), and I'll go back! An XBMC / Kodi ONLY environment has its advantages.... But, not being able to run Emulators (for me!), is a major DISADVANTAGE!

What controller do you use for retroarch? (Or in general)

A Dualschok3 via USB. since the 1G MXIII (As Stock), does NOT have Bluetooth.
OpenELEC offers some support for a USB Bluetooth Dongle, But I'm not quit there on how to install Retroarch under Amlinux yet.

I use Retroarch to play my old PC-Engine Games on. Though you can plan PSP stuff with it too. It seems like the MXIII is still not quite optmized for those Games. Which makes me wonder all the more if they wouldn't run better under Amlinux, the Android?

I advise to check Remix 114k4 firmware from the link below

              Improvements:
              - Kodi 15.0 Alpha
              - Higher processor speed
              - Higher LAN speed (by cable) it shows me full speed of my internet bandwich 100Mb/s - first firmware with high LAN speed

                - Kodi 15.0 Alpha is not good right now

Yeah, but what about the Plug-ins / Addons (Whatever they're called), XBMC / Kodi ain't much good if your Favorite Repo doesn't work on it.
Besides I'm more interested on the stand point of the amcodec, and if its just as craptasitic as it has been post 110k4. I don't know what might have happened in sinse 110k4 (Which as I understand it was just a Hotfix for 109k4, presumably just like 114k4 was (or, is), to 113k4), to break the amcodec the way that it has. But, it has on my 1G AP-6181 - MXIII. Which is why I ended up reverting to 110k4. Which works surprisingly well, certainly better then Firmwares 111 ~ 114 (k4), had.

Can anyone tell me how to load a previous version of the firmware, I have 112k4 installed on an MXIII but I preferred the older versions (no audio sync issues). It won't let me reload an older firmware though. Thanks

Ok this used to be complicated, but since about a Month ago now its gotten a lot simpler.
You just need to download the k200.IMG Version of TWRP, and rename it as recovery.IMG, and then place this on your MicroSD Card. Essentially replacing the recovery.img from the Three File's Zip File. You can also delete the aml_pram File as well since it won't be needed.

All you'd need is the 1xxk4.zip File that you're trying to downgrade to, and the renamed k200.img File (i.e. renamed to recovery.img). This should then boot you into the TWRP Recovery... And yes you WILL NEED A USB MOUSE from this point on! Otherwise it should be as simple as Install -> (Selecting the Location of the *.zip File), -> Selecting the 1xxk4.zip File.

Otherwise you'll need a Windows PC, to install the Amlogic USB Burner Tool, to flash the 1xxk4.IMG Files back to the Box. Which depending on which version of Windows you might be running. May prove more challenging. *cough* Windows 8.x *cough*. The trick here is to deactivate the requirement for ONLY Signed Drivers. I have enough sence to NOT get involved with Windows 8.x. So you'll have to go ask Uncle Google on how that's done.

Given how superior TWRP is to the Stock 3e Rcovery, and how much simpeler it is to deal with I'd highly recommend using this method instead.

You're more likely to die of old age before that happens!

It does seem that the active support for the MXIII has passed. remind me again it originally launched back 'round what July 2014 (Or so?). Yeah its a bit early to have killed it off. But, I guess that's how it goes. Which is more the pitty since I was hoping to update to Lollipop someday, and give the Google TV launcher a try. Though its looking less, and less likely. Unless someone can access the Files hosted over at http://openlinux.amlogic.com/ and then compile those with the Lollipop Source. Seems you need to be registered first though.
