Question concerning PS3 Controller / Xbox 360 Controller Support

Hi, it's my first post on here so nice to meet you all...
First of all i apologise for my bad grammar... (i'm from Belgium)
Also excuse me if this came up already on the finless threads...

I have a Tronsmart S89-H running Finless 1.7 (btw it works wonderfull so far so thanks Bob...)
I mainly want to use the Android box for emulating all the older consoles from yesteryear... (up to and including DS and PSX)
And Media playback and playing touch games with a gamepad by using the gamekeyboard apk
    (https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...t.gamekeyboard)

    My 3 questions:
    1) Has anybody been able to set up an original PS3 Controller (wireless) to function properly?
    2) Has anybody been able to set up an original Xbox 360 Controller (wired)? Is this even possible?
    3) Has anybody been able to use any gamepad where all the buttons and sticks respond properly? Suggestions which (preferably wireless) ones and how you got them to function are welcome...

I can not get the PS3 and 360 controllers to work... (Even with the "sixaxis controller apk" i cannot get the PS3 controller to function...) (maybe I'm doing something wrong but I doubt it, I followed several tutorials and it does not work for me at all...)

I have tried my other pc/ps3 controllers
(I tried about 7 from unknown brands and one "Logitech Chillstream for PS3")
The only one functioning rather well is the "Logitech Chillstream" (right analogue stick doesn't register with most apk's, the left one acts as D-pad in most apk's)

If anyone knows how could you please (pretty please) post a tutorial/guideline on how to do it...
I'm not a android exprert so please use "simple" instructions (if possible a step by step guide)

    I most gratefull...
    Thank you in advance

Am having quite a hard time setting up server related stuff like ftp and vnc. Seems it works better via wifi. For some reason I get alerts that my data plan might be exceeded when I use ethernet so probalby the interfaces need tyding up.

Eg: If I allow any network on my ftp server it tells me that it will not accept connections in 3G mode when I try to access via ethernet. If I explixitly add 3G connection then ftp via ethernet works.

Airdroid works via ethernet. VNC clients don't (they seem to require wifi).

Maybe a pointer to get things straigtened out.

BTW "Trimming" is also something that isn't supported on this device though I though it was standard in 4.4.2.

Google Play store also doesn't show my apps if I'm on ethernet instead of wifi - but remote installation via windows play store works.

I bought the G910 controller from Geekbuying and have used it with the following emulation apps without problems:
          nes.emu free
          snes9x ex+
          mupen64+AE free
          gba.emu free
          gbc.emu free
          FPse

Just set it as a bluetooth HID.

These apps all have an option for custom save folders if you want to use dropsync.

Sadly, after trying this ROM, I reverted back to 104k4 stock. XBMC hw decoding just didn't look as good as what I had w/ stock on my tronsmart s89-h (with some videos).

              root changes

The last rom i had was 1.6 running the based of the 4 4 firmware from oman...
that firmware seemed to be rooted perfectly without any pressence of the super root user app....
on this rom i have to go turn off all the notfications and worry about authorizing.....then it asks me 15 minutes or ask again next boot.

I loved the fact that i didnt have to ever interact with the super user root tool on 1.6

is there a way to have it as seemless as before....and is this a crazy stupid question?
for a lamn like my 60 year old pop i dont want to be called verytime a "RESTRICTED ACCESS" need root permission comes up for new apps he installs and the 8 warnings that xbmc pops up....

curious thanks regardless for the great work.

would also love to know how to change the boot screen or revert to the oem animated one?

              thanks in advance

1.6 was rooted in the exact same way as 1.7. So your doing something wrong.

This is really nagging me .. I would love to have an ftp and vnc server running in the background all the time so that I can do stuff with the box from my home pc at any time. Remote ADB would also be cool .. but "adb connect <ip>" is not working. ftp and vnc work sometimes .. very unreliable .. if anyone else has a similar desire please step in and test with me .. I will gladly provide pointers to the apps I use and exchange settings and stuff :-)

                        hey bob,

ok i understand i might be doing somethin wrong....
but i just reflashed 1.6 and i do not see superSU anywhere on the desktop nor did i et any questions or pop ups in relation to permissions when i installed xbmc.....

i have another s82 next to it with 1.7 on it....superSU is on the desktop....and after you run xbmc for the first time you are promoted with all sorts of permission warnings....

so i understand it might be rooted the same way but why am does one have it on the desktop or in apps and produce warnings and 1.6 does not have the super SU anywhere and there are no warnings sraight after restore?

i have flashed 3 diff boxes with 1.7 and so far i cant seem to get xbmc to play most plugins like ustvnow etc.....and with the exact same steps and setup on 1.6 everything works extremely fast and smooth.

i understand i can turn off notifications etc in superSU but in 1.6 if you were a noob you woudlnt even know superSU existed....

i am going to try it again on the 4th box, but after installing 1.6 on a dozen machines and not having any issues what so ever, and installing 1.7 on 3 machines that all simply dont work i am confused and wondering what the downfall to 1.6 is over 1.7 as it seems to work very well for me.

thanks in advance and i appreciate all the amaizng work.

on another note are you available for hire for a freelance project?

                          once last quick question.....
Does anyone know the best way to ghost one box to another?

can i use the restore backup tool to make a ROm of my entire current setup and then istall it onto another box?

I have a perfec setup running amazingly smooth on bob's 1.6 and id love to just save that rom somehow and install it on another box the same way i would the finless rom....

                          thoughts advice?

                          thanks in advance

i clicked backup an it sved a 1.6 gig "backup" file on my sd card....
but i tried to load it by choosing a restore file on a second beelink and it wont recognize there is a file here....maybe i have to unpack it on a pc and then resave it as a zip? not sure still working at it but no luck.

not that kind of back up m8 with a lot of smartphones and i thought tv boxes as well you can boot your device into recovery mode where you can backup apps or data or everything,if i have a rom thats running really good i back up eveything give it a file name ie rescue then if i flash a rom i dont like i just boot into recovery load the rescue file and everything is back the way it was, you could also load this file onto a phone of the same type maybe tv boxes cannot do this i will have to play with mine when i get a chance and find out .It never occurred to me that tv boxes may not have a recovery mode
