Please notice I've released an updated ROM based on cubes V1.8 firmware

Here's a lightly reworked ROM based on Cube's U65GT firmware of 20 June 2014. Updated to include instructions, missing drivers, flash tool etc.

ROM Download

If you have already downloaded the ROM without the instructions, drivers and flash tool then see post 7 for the missing files and download.

So what do you get

• English
• Root
• Removal of Chinese apps
• init.d support with busybox integration
• Option of CWM recovery built with rua1's MTK Droid Root Tool
• auto install feature:- if you create an autoinstall folder on your sdcard containing any default apks they will install on first boot. I tend to be sparing in this just loading my preferred file browser, terminal emulator and titanium backup.

I'm pretty impressed with the stock ROM, though I do have a few things on my to do list. I'd like to adjust the space allocated to apps and sdcard as I feel 2Gb for apps to be low.

I've included instructions within the download for flashing both the full ROM (required if you are changing from Cube's earlier firmware) or flashing just boot and system (ANDROID). Also included are both stock and CWM recovery.

PS Lepi pointed out to me that its easy to boot into recovery as follows. First power off the U65GT, it vibrates when shut down completes. Press and hold power for about a second then press and hold vol+ until a menu displays (its small in white). Scroll through the menu options with vol+ and select with vol-

CWM zip fix for read only external sd card. Download and put onto the sdcard (internal or external), reboot to recovery and update. Corrected and tested 29 June 2014.

Hi, my friends. I have compiled recovery TWRP 2.7.0.0 (white theme) from different sources. Tested on my tablet Cube Talk9x 32 Gb. Light theme took here. Thank ScumpinatoS. Install from FlashTool. Successful update!

Already flashed it.
Seems really nice, but it would prevent you a lot of questions if you post the install instruction here

things cube have to fix:
- Working chrome
- Wifi settings didn´t work (switch off in standby)
- GPS fix is really slow
- google browser sync not working
- camera problem (may cause in a hardware issue by my tablet)

But for now, where the tablet is still released one week, the ROM is AMAZING! Hoping this will continue!!!

There should be two documents in the zip file, one for updating (same version of ROM) and the other for a full flash if you are currently on V1.3. If they are not there I'll have to upload it afresh tomorrow.

I think I may have just uploaded the image files and missed out the drivers and instructions.

I've uploaded the following ROM kit, also added to post 1, this contains the missing drivers, flash tool and instructions.


ROM Kit

Download and unpack this, copy the extracted folder from the original/other download from post 1 and then check the instructions in this kit.

I'll see about getting the full kit uploaded but the upload will take a while.

That's good to hear. I'm not certain I believe the antutu scores from the U65GT but it is quick and fluid

I am really happy with this rom but do you have any idea why chrome isn´t working?
Also it is not possible to create different users.

I'm still learning my way around on mtk architecture, so concentrating on that first. I'm looking to be able to offer updates to the balance of storage between data and user data as I suspect just 2Gb to be marginal.

Once I have a few more bits understood and scripted so they are repeatable I'll begin to look at the chrome issue and maybe multi user.
