OK BETA 1 is ready!

I was hoping SnakeKiller could test before I posted the link but alas, time zones and what not do not allow that to happen.

So this is why this is a beta test!

It has my updated files I did and SnakeKiller's fixes.
I am glad SnakeKiller is helping me on this ROM. I need the help as I cannot test ANYTHING! So he is the main man here!

Note: video recording on the camera APP is the only thing we know is not working yet.

OK again this could be a good start and then again it might not be.
There is no readme, etc. But you know what to do. erase IDB and flash.
This for sure should boot but what works and what doesnt is beyond me. I have to use a mouse to test any ICS ROM on my 10G2

ok install succesfully.
bootscreen ok
bootanimation to big in height
touchscreen works
wifi works
sound works.
the only problem i have now is after startup wizard the screen is in portraid and not landscape.
it even won't turn.
in the startup wizard no statusbar at the bottom only black

Added things :
Includes 'Button Saviour', is this needed with this rom?
Wi-fi good, speeds seems good also, range about the same as before though still poor for me.
GPLay working, sign in no problem, detected apps we have had issues with before (Facebook).
ES File Explorer & TB installed, no issues & can write to SD card no problem.
Restored a couple of apps & data from Beta2 ROM , screen auto-rotates to landscape as set by apps.
Edit - ran Zombie Lane and got a message about a zoom to fit screen option as app was designed for smaller (I think it said smaller!) screen, have three options. This could be what ICS is supposed to do but I never got it with the old ROM. Whichever option I choose crashes the app but runs fine when I re-load it.

Suspect related to the the boot screen size issue.
Is the auto-rotate a build.prop tweak?

Thats freakin awesome!

I will use Arnova build.prop and make a new AOSP ROM. The rotation thing is because of that.
The status bar at the bottom on the setup wizard is normal! They are forcing you through the setup wizard which you have to do on 4.0.4

OK I will start a new thread. For me working on this ROM is better than hacking at the Arnova ROM.

UP to you..... I twill be a little while for the BETA1 as I have to now setup a full build environment. That Alphs ROM was all the Cube but with the Arnova kernel. As you see a few little bugs to fix.

So Mr. Weelson, does the screen not rotate at the home screen? Please check settings and rotation and make sure it is on.

i copied from beta 2 from the 2 rk rotation files.
i think it was from bin/hw or lib/hw the last 2 files in the map.
reflashed the whole rom.
en no rotation fully working

I'd wait for the next one with a revised build.prop - though feel free to give this one a go!!!

BTW Location services seem to be working though I can't tell if Google Maps is just remembering my location or really finding it! No errors at any rate.

Tried BBC Iplayer, ran but video speed was too fast - same issues as with old rom.
Also noticed no volume controls on task bar at bottom of screen. Could be standard ICS issue.
