NO, this 'small' Linux includes the XBMC and boots straight away to the XBMC...

Hello everyone. Im new in this embedded linux field. Currently, Im studying to create my own customised firmware for m8 Android TV box(s802 squre one). I have downloaded sources from http://openlinux.amlogic.com:8000/do...4cd3742.tar.gz and compiled with meson8_k200_release_defconfig including xbmc. Now, I have got some files as a result following below, boot.img, meson8_k200a_1G.dtb, rootfs.cpio, rootfs.tar, uImage, u-boot.bin, etc,.. The problem is I dont know how to flash those files to my target board(m8 s802) or create update.zip. Can anybody help me or please let me know where I can get information about that.

nevermind i had to install it from sd card not usb stick, ok now how do i adjust the buffer for videos? when i go to fast forward on content it wont let me go way ahead if i try it rubber bands me back

have a crazy weird problem ...
flashed many times, also flashed finless and then amlinux and still problem is here :








after 2,3 time reboots usually the amlinux inside xbmc will be gone but the boot up is always same

I found out that if the tv and AV receiver are on before I turn on the box the AMLinux logo inside xbmc wont comes up but the distortion is always happening

I have that distortion of the splash screen but in shutdown, not start up. I have had issues on the MX version of Corey's linux where randomly an mx would stick on the 2nd splash screen and refuse to boot up meaning I needed to do a reflash so I'm nervous of similar issue with Linux on the m8. Has anyone heard of this happening to anyone on the M8 and it was my opinion (rightly or wrongly) that it was caused by incorrect shut down and somehow a file getting corrupted or something. I'm nervous due to my distorted splash screen and the fact that the shutdown procedure is identical so can anyone help me understand or hopefully reassure me.
In relation to the Xbmc screen being partially covered by the Linux screen I got that issue when I flashed a box. It was suggested on stanes web site that I flash an m8 stock android rom and then flash this Linux. It worked a charm. So maybe that can help

Feel like I'm in this thread alone.

My my worst fears realized. Box stuck on the AMLinux splash screen. Not even very rigorous testing but stuck nonetheless. anyone else?

Ok... First you are in thread Beelink S82 / Tronsmart S89 / VissonTech S82 Linux which is not same as ENY EM8 and that box afaik already have clones...

So, first try with linux fw for eny device. Second, try connect box to tv directly.
