              Install like stated on the OP.


              If something isn't working right, please provide if possible, recovery.log and dmesg. You can go to advance tab, and choose copy log to SD or do adb pull tmp/recovery.log

                        I suggest Abdul and Bob jointly investigate why on M8 the old 3e recovery is persistent.

                          OK, found the bug:

                          Deleted recovery.img in root of internal memory
                          went into recovery via app
                          TWRP loads

                          wireless mouse works

                          Next step: making a nandroid backup & then
                          restoring that

                            Testing TWRP on MINIX X8-h

                            Installed as per instructions. Had same problem script succeeded but did not go back to reboot screen, solved same way by removing recovery.img from root.

                            Tried backup TWRP could not read logo, recovery or boot all 0mb, backed up data and system successfully and wrote log file.

                            Did not try to restore.

                            Log file uploaded.

                              OK, report on: Abdul's TWRP port for Square M8 on Bob's ROM 1.8
                              (cont.d):

                              Backup

                              Made nandroid backup on internal:
                              shortened name
                              chose all sections: boot sys data...

                              size was about 2.2gb

                              Backup was successful

                              Location @: /SD-Card1 (internal memory)/TWRP

                              I used internal instead of physical external SD-Card for speed.

                              ##############################

                              Restore

                              Restored from recovery
                              took a while, finished restoring

                              reboot button failed: screen froze!
                              switched off box

                              switched on box
                              reboot started
                              android updated only 6 apps (Bob's ROM apps)
                              went into initial setup of android
                              settings were remembered, clicked a couple of OK buttons
                              going into android took about a minute

                              All my apps were restored too

                              Notes:

                              my wallpaper (app: No wallpaper) was replaced with Bob's ROM
                              some apps (xiialive radio + few) lost their settings
                              most apps + Nova launcher settings were restored fine

                              tested a few videos and channels on 2 xbmc:
                              add-ons restored fine
                              streaming and working fine

                              It's 720p:

                              TWRP covered the top left quarter of my 1080p screen only:
                              My Bob's 1.8 ROM is set to 1080p

                              switching the TV hdmi input box to satellite and back to M8:
                              made it recognize 720 mode and filled the screen

                              720p is good: works for all users

                              Restore from SD-Card:

                              Copied TWRP (folder) backup from internal memory to physical SD-Card(2)
                              rebooted into recovery
                              chose external: top box gives options: internal external otg
                              currently restoring (similar speed)

                              ................... should be OK when it finishes.

                                Restore from SD-Card (cont.d):

                                * Reboot button                                 after Physical SD-Card restore does work, no freeze

                                * After SD-Card restore:

                                + No updating of apps
                                + No going into settings
                                + No loss of settings as in few apps
                                + System reboots exactly as nothing happened and as it was

                                Perfect Restore.

                                Conclusion: restore from physical SD-Card.
