I don't know about MTK devices much though.
I've never had an MTK device. I don't know anything about them.
I've only had Qualcomm and Tegra phones and Amlogic or Rockchip tablets / tv boxes.
I've only done my own development work on Amlogic and Rockchip devices.

Larger application partition firmware available (almost?)
Originally posted by grace917 View PostHELP!!!! I need more room for apps!!!!
Anyone have a way to redo the partition on this device. As far as I am concerned, it came bricked! THANKS!
under the firmware drop down includes a larger application partition. I wanted to try it out, but I'm getting CRC errors with driver.zip. They are looking in to the problem. Due to the holiday, there may be a delay. You can try it now and see if it works for you. It works for them. I tried 3 OSes and 4 unzip programs, to no avail. This is not an OTA update.

I hope you have better luck, or they fix it quickly.
Tech support told me about this update, when I asked them about it a couple of weeks ago, but was only going to believe it when it was actually available.
Also, the price today, at least, is $49.99.

Interestingly, the price is back up to $59.99 on Black Friday.

Firmware Update 11/30 attempt
The drivers file was updated and no longer gives error when extracted. I might have installed drivers. At least it looks successful. The flash_tool.exe app gives me a error message "flash_tool.exe has stopped working". For my complete notes check my blog post at nx700qc.blogspot.com/2014/11/trying-to-update-firmware.html

Another eager noobee NX700QC user
ShaunMT - Please add me to your list of those wishing to support this thread to find a root solution. I just got started using your Next7P12-8G information successfully, committing myself to experiment until I managed to brick it. And after a few weeks that's exactly what I succeeded in doing, and put that one aside for now - maybe that is for yet another list.
This looks like a solid forum that is well run, and my first action upon joining was to ante up to your donate button. Please keep up your excellent efforts.
