Mediafire gives the best download speeds for me.

Will use Solidfiles as a backup, since it supports remote file uploads.

Leanback launcher would be good, but i have yet to find a working version for android 4.4

I would recommend to keep it to bare minimum. Lets the users decide what apps they want for themselves (Playstore is there ).

Maybe you can have two version which contains a completely de-bloated ROM and another version with some essential apps.

Leanback launcher - Not available on KitKat, maybe still use Nova Launcher(Also has Android L theme)

Youtube for Google tv - Not updated anymore, normal Youtube works better

Yes please! The GoogleTV version of YouTube is already perfect for TV viewing, no need for an air mouse and excepts incoming video recommendations from android phones and tablets.
